Lerner burner.

Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has penned a personal, scathing letter to his Democratic counterpart on the House oversight committee, escalating the public feud between the two high-ranking lawmakers amid the committee’s investigation into IRS targeting.

The letter to Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., top Democrat on that committee, was obtained by Fox News. In it, Issa countered, point by point, a series of claims that Cummings and two legal experts made earlier this week about whether former IRS official Lois Lerner could be held in contempt for refusing to testify.

Issa went further, effectively accusing Cummings of running interference on behalf of his party and the administration.

“… rather than pursuing the facts where they lead — which is the function of effective congressional oversight — you have made yourself an obstacle to effective congressional oversight, in effect, a defense counsel for Lerner and others who acted to deprive Americans of their constitutionally-guaranteed rights,” the committee chairman wrote.

In another verbal sting, he continued: “Even though the White House helped orchestrate your ascension to Ranking Member, I have encouraged, and continue to encourage, you to subordinate your political loyalties to the institutional interests of the Committee and the House, especially in cases like this where obstructing the Committee’s work risks permanently disadvantaging Congress in its interactions with the Executive Branch.”

Translation: “Stop being The Idiot King’s lapdog.

Cummings has been the drama queen darling of the lefty blogosphere for his extended tantrum over Issa cutting his mic. Issa probably did his colleague from Maryland a favor, because when Cummings speaks he tends to be a blithering idiot.

Thankfully, Darrell Issa isn’t concerned with whether or not people like him, he’s just there to kick you-know-what until he gets to the bottom of whatever Team Lightbringer’s latest extralegal foray is.

poll: 25% of the country doesn't understand that the earth circles the sun.

guess we now know why democratic voters think their mangy mongrel hung the moon. must have taken that poll in congress where progressives like cummings are circling the wagons to protect the likes of fairy barry, gun runner holder, the wicked witches and dirty harry.

maybe they figure that the Arkansas mafia will clean it all up in jan. '17.

Washington should sell programs, like football games, so we can keep track of which criminals are stealing what. its getting hard to keep up w/ the scandals.

Cummings actions to help the IRS screw over citizens doesn't stop with his acting as a running dog for FCMABBHO. Remember Catherine Engelbrecht?

He tried to use his position and official letterhead from the committee to try to intimidate her. The FBI came to her six times, she was audited by the IRS and other agencies jumped up her butt over the past four years.

"Congressman Cummings on three separate occasions sent letters on letterhead from this committee, stating that he had concerns and felt it necessary to open an investigation on True the Vote," Engelbrecht said during the hearing, where she and other witnesses were otherwise testifying on IRS targeting.

When I saw the title of this post I had a horrifying thought:

What would the spawn of Jackson Lee and Cummings be like?

I'm gonna have a TON of trouble sleeping tonight...

As a Marylander, who voted against Cummings at every opportunity ... I would note a boatload of true believers and beneficiaries have kept him in office for a very long time.
