Another revealing moment from today’s education forum starring state Sen. Wendy Davis. You can almost hear reporter Peggy Fikac’s incredulity in the following tweet.

The Titanic took on a lot of water. From the looks of things, so is Davis’ campaign.

Either Davis hasn’t given much serious thought to her big education proposal and hasn’t come up with any numbers, or she has, and hasn’t come up with any numbers. I’m not sure which is worse.

Abortion Barbie is not quite ready for prime time. It never occurred to her that anyone would expect actual numbers...hard facts to back up her proposals. She fully expected to be received as a purveyor of gospel. I think she is testing the waters. I don't believe she has declared her candidacy...yet...formally.

It's consistently worked for members of her party.
In fact, the less they say about their plans, the better off they are.

Two centuries ago, a somewhat obscure Scotsman named Tytler made this profound observation: "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

We are watching that quote play out before our very eyes.

This is a woman who believes life is expendable & disposable in all circumstances. Why would anyone who puts NO VALUE on children give a damn about educating them?!

Don't you just love politicians who don't know if something can be accomplished for $10 or $10 billion, but decide to spend the money until maybe something is accomplished, or, the more common scenario, the money runs out and they run around borrowing more?

She's ignorant. But there enough Democrats who believe in Cloward-Piven that it might qualify as a Kinsley gaffe.

Hmm. So she's going to take on ideas in a flood until they reduce the freeboard so much that the slightest wave swamps the system? Or perhaps only on one side until the list capsizes the whole thing? Or is she going to take on ideas with all hands devoted to stopping the flood with whatever is at hand and let as few as possible in?

Sounds to me like she expects her dynamic education plan to sink, resulting in hundreds of casualties.

I think she may be right.

Let's just hope Wendy's campaign takes on water, as a ship (in deep trouble) takes on water.
