Proposition: The Atlantic‘s Ta-Nehisi Coates is rushing to Melissa Harris-Perry’s defense because both are leftists, and because both are black.

Coates goes to great lengths to paint the entire conservative movement, including the Romneys whom Harris-Perry smeared for the crime of adopting a black child, as racist.

But his defense of Harris-Perry is itself racist. Or at least, it’s based on race.

Would he leap to defend, say, Keith Olbermann for making similar comments? Or Rachel Maddow?

I can’t prove he wouldn’t, mainly because even while both Olbermann and Maddow have marked their careers saying silly things, neither stooped to the level of smearing a white family for adopting a black child. Melissa Harris-Perry did that. She took a noble and obviously not racist act and made a racial issue of it. And then when the backlash caught up with her, she cried to keep her job. Alec Baldwin wondered if a good on-air cry would have helped him keep his MSNBC gig after he embarrassed the network.

Probably not. For one thing, everyone would assume that he’s just acting.

A couple of years back, MSNBC earned quite a bit of mockery for its lily-white on-air line-up. At that time, Keith Olbermann (white man) and Chris Matthews (white man) led a network line-up that was almost exclusively made up of white men. Others on the air at that time included Dylan Ratigan (white man), Ed Schultz (white man) and Rachel Maddow (white woman).

Not a very balanced lineup. Also not a very colorful lineup. It didn’t, in Bill Clinton’s famous phrase, “look like America.”

The Dallas Tea Party invited MSNBC’s all-white line-up to meet its racially diverse group of liberty-loving patriots, in February of 2010.

The invitation was not accepted.

Soon after that, MSNBC began its on-air makeover. Matthews survived, Olbermann gasbagged himself out of the network, Schultz has been relegated around several time slots, and the network hired Alex Wagner (attractive black woman), Martin Bashir (Indian man with British accent, so he sounds smart no matter what idiocy pours from his mouth), Al Sharpton (black man who has never found the blood on his hands to be any obstacle to mainstream media acceptance) and Melissa Harris-Perry (attractive black Tulane professor) to literally present new faces to its audience. They also recently hired high-interest credit card pitchman Alec Baldwin, but had to let him go after a series of anti-gay slurs. See above.

Am I suggesting that MSNBC engaged in race-based hiring? Well, you be the judge. The motivation to do so was certainly there. None of these hires brought proven television hosting experience to the table. They brought very reliable leftist politics, and their melanin except in Baldwin’s case*, to the network. They were all hired at a time that the network was on the defensive because of its all-white and mostly male lineup, while at the same time its all-white hosts were mocking the Tea Party for an alleged lack of racial diversity.

Just reading the name Ta-whatever tells me all I need to know about this article and how stupid the content will be. Harris-Perry the tampon earring queen is no better. Ten years ago these kind of people would have been selling shoes at Walmart.

Coates starts each of his race articles (the majority) out with his only known true fact in life: white people are bad, and black people good. Then he writes backwards until he meets that fact. Both Coates and Perry have affirmative action careers. Left to their own devices, they're driving cabs.

Ta-Nehisi Coates , pronounced Reginald Throatwarbler-Mangrove, validates another hyphenated communist agent. Its like a Python skit.

In Russia, "intellectual" is considered a synonym for "educated fool" in the common parlance. Methinks the Russians are onto something, particularly in this example.

Yeah, M H-P is America's foremost public intellectual, just like Al Sharpton is America's foremost racial healer, bringing the races together (and now also a climate scientist on the side).

liberals circling the wagons to protect their own, knowing that the main stream media will love it, and protect them, and the low info voters will hear nothing of the blatant hate, and vile nature of these people

When Sharpton and Jackson have retired to Florida, we will have that excellent brainiac Ta-Nehisi Coates to take up the Anti-anti-racist flag.

...America's foremost public intellectual". Based on what?

Let's guess.

On the same criteria the Nobel Peace Prize Committee awarded the 2008 Peace Prize to BH Obama. Who had proven beyond doubt to any and all observers his Peace Making propensities and capabilities. Since developed to universal acclaim.

And on the basis of the reasonings of enabling instruments of the DNC for BH Obama's entry onto the national stage. .

Nancy Pelosi of reported VOW for REVENGE against Americans who in the Millenium election - even after the ground had been tilled by WJ Clinton during the Advent - elected the Republican candidate, in the Chair of the DNC. And her Second Hillary Clinton who identified those same Americans in 2000 as "That vast RIGHT-WING CONSPIRACY".

Both "certifying" BH Obama their candidate for the Office of Presidentl.

BH Obama then and to date of uncertain provenance ( "proven" personal history), uncertain identity / identities (aliases galore) and uncertain competence in anything but gaming the System of Law of the Consititutional Republc of the USA. Home of those "upstart" Yanks who believe themselves "exceptional" and must be put in their place. To ADMIT their faults to be re-baptised as secular "Progressives".

Who all three (Triumvirate anyone) believed, rightly as it turns out, that the MAJOR qualification for the highest honour in the citizens' gift is the colour of the skin of the candidate. Thus to "win the hearts and minds" of the benighted citizens of the USA.

Which judgement they and their troops defend hourly, daily, weekly etc. from any who might, just might, believe BH Obama does NOT walk on water or make the oceans recede.

Considerations apparently also definitive for the Nobel Peace Prize Committee of extra USA instituion.

With friends like these who needs enemies?

The press and the media give the left a powerful tool by enabling them simply to declare that they are "the smart ones". People who are insecure with their own intellect and those who want to be smart without doing any actual...uhhhh...thinking will just side with "the smart ones" and call it a day. That's why you see academics vote overwhelmingly for the democrats- no one is more insecure about their intelligence than a college professor. They don't dare stray from the liberal line for fear of looking dumb in front of their peers. Tina Fey makes Sarah Palin look stupid and that's all it takes for a lot of people. It started early with George Bush- he was stupid and if you sided with him you were stupid too. It's easy to cave to that kind of pressure.

Come to Detroit and throw a pebble into a crowd. Odds-are you'll hit a black racist.
Are there white racists ? Of course there are. I've got some of that on me, but it's no matter to me personally. To me it is a Lifestyle Choice like being Gay and it's no one's business but mine. I don't run around bellowing racisms and only engage when seen as needed, by me. Around here if you are not perpetually in 'condition orange' you gonna' get a big surprise, sooner before later.
But the depopulating of Detroit seemingly has produced 'Concentrated Evil', such as that seen in GhostBusters. It's palpable.
Per thousand[s] of people remaining, it's a sure thing that this trend has gotten worse. How much worse ? You'll not find out easily as no one wants to be "point scout" where this topic is concerned. Few are that daring,
or out-and-out stupid.
