Start learning Mandarin, kids.

“In fact, there are things that we know will help strengthen our economy that we could get done before this year is out,” said Obama from the White House briefing room. “We still need to pass a law to fix our broken immigration system. We still need to pass a farm bill. And with the shutdown behind us and budget committees forming, we now have an opportunity to focus on a sensible budget that is responsible, that is fair, and that helps hard working people all across this country. And we could get all these things done even this year, if everybody comes together in a spirit of how-are-we-going-to-move-this-country forward and put the last three weeks behind us.”

Yes, I laughed until my ribs hurt at the “sensible budget that is responisble” line too.

Anyone familiar with Obamaspeak knows that the above paragraph is the political version of a kid in a candy store. Because we are so far through the looking glass that the majority of the political class is celebrating (useful idiot Peter King actually called this a victory for the American people) a chance to exacerbate our soon-to-be-catastrophic debt problems, Obama knows he can hit the spending accelerator again.

Aided by centrist Republicans who are more interested in DC social status than the future of the republic, Obama and the Democrats are now encouraged to continue profligate spending habits. And thanks to the John McCain/Pete King wing of the GOP, they can do it virtually unchecked.

Obama played the republicans like a baby grand. He also had help from his BFF Valerie Jarrett. Republicans need to learn from what happened here and work together. If that means muzzling McCain and King, so be it.

I'd love to see two or three relatively simple common sense steps that would help reduce the deficit and eventually the debt:

1) Zero based budgeting. Why is there an AUTOMATIC increase set in the budget? Make an agency prove or show that it needs more money instead of blindly increasing it.
2) End the end of year spending spree. I was in the army for 14 years. Every Aug, we got asked what we needed. We then went on a spending spree BECAUSE if we didn't spend it by Sept 30th, it wouldn't carry over to the next fiscal year AND they'd cut your budget because you obviously didn't need it if you didn't spend it. Talk about perverse incentive
3) 1% across the board, no exceptions, cut in real spending in every department
(and a 4th - dreaming - make #3 be a return to 2008 spending levels in every department. You know, back when the government was starved for money).

What the heck it's only money ! Right ? it's not theirs.. and they will spend it like there is an never ending supply of it.. Well it's going to dry up PDQ, we the taxpayers are sick and tired of both parties.. This time there will be a "TAX REBELLION" .. It time to send them all a message and the only way that these enemies of the people will get the message is to " CUT OFF THE BUCKS"..

Good. Now things are out in the open. Let the RINOs run as Democrats. If they will not stand honestly as Democrats, let them run as Independents. If they will not stand as open advocates for American Socialism and instead usurp the name Republican they can forget any voter to the right of Bob Dole. Actually, that might be a good rule of thumb. No one to the Left of Bob Dole. And that is giving up far too much.

If I blow past my 10K limit to 15K, the bank's response would not be to give me unconditional extension to 20K, right?
