A new Gallup poll finds a record percentage of Americans believe that government is now too powerful in our lives.

PRINCETON, NJ — Six in 10 Americans (60%) believe the federal government has too much power, one percentage point above the previous high recorded in September 2010. At least half of Americans since 2005 have said the government has too much power. Thirty-two percent now say the government has the right amount of power. Few say it has too little power.

That number saying that government has too little power is just 7 percent. Yet that belief clearly animates the Democratic Party at every level. Progressives see no limit to the power government should hold. Meanwhile, Republicans have 60% of the people on their side, yet are able to do very little with that at the national level. The fights over Obamacare, the debt ceiling, and the debate between the blue state model of governance and the red state model of governance are really theaters in the one great battle over the size and scope of government. Republicans ought to be winning these battles — well, if those whom Gallup polled are telling the truth, anyway.

A man works his whole life building a nest egg for his family.

He pays taxes at an exorbitant rate under the Socio/Communists who rob him blind at every turn...in order to give money to their constituents...and the Workers Party.

He pays taxes on every penny he earns. Finally, he has built enough to set his children on a course where they do not struggle as he had to...and he passes his FULLY PAID money on to them.

What do the thieves in government do? They rip the proceeds from the hands of the children and steal money...that has been FULLY PAID already.

Why? Because "others" don't have parents who passed along money...so, they want to steal the money from those who did.

They FORCE you to buy THEIR crappy insurance, use their crappy doctors, they run a crappy mail service, a crappy motor vehicle service, a crappy immigration service, a crappy border control, and a crappy voting rights department.

Then...they exempt themselves from all the inconveniences they heap on others.

They attack principled dissenters, use the power of government to spy, lie and sue innocent political opponents.

So, does the government have too much power?

Not if you are a radical leftist...who gets the benefit of all the corruption, graft and abuse of everyone else. And, not if you are the Agenda Media, a co-conspirator in creating, advancing, covering up and exacerbating these abuses.

For everyone else with a single firing synapse...the question is rhetorical.

It's like I've said a thousand times before: we violently revolted against George III over a hell of a lot less than what our current government does.

60% of Americans think the federal government is too powerful.
40% of Americans think it's not too powerful
53% of Americans voted for Barack Obama.

Ergo, a minimum of 13% of Americans are complete f-ing morons who deserve whatever awful things the government does to them. I'm just sorry they're dragging the rest of us down with them.
