Harry Reid Launches Slanderous Attacks on Tea Party, Republicans

Harry Reid’s grip on the Senate is the reason that President Obama knows he can get away with his lawless moves. Reid’s Senate will never, ever act against him.

In a pair of over-the-top moments today, Reid demonstrated just how far he will go to smear Republicans and protect Obama. In the first, Reid merely says that he hopes GOP opposition to Obama isn’t based on raaacism.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on Friday that he hopes Republicans are opposing President Barack Obama based on substance and not based on his race.

“It has been obvious that they’re doing everything they can to make him fail. I hope that…that’s based on substance, not the fact that he’s African American,” he told Nevada Public Radio, KNPR.

To take but one issue, the IRS union must be raaacist too, since they want no part of Obamacare.

In the second, Reid merely compared the Tea Party to the anarchists who started World War I.

Senate Majority Leader and Nevada Democrat Sen. Harry Reid compared the tea party to the 20th century anarchist movement during a Friday interview on KNPR.

“Who is the tea party? Well, understand, when I was in school, I studied government, among other things, and prior to World War I and after World War I we had the anarchists,” Reid began. “Now they were violent — you know, some say that’s what started World War I, the anarchy moment — but they were violent. They did damage to property and they did physical damage to people.”

“The modern anarchists don’t do that — that’s the tea party,” Reid clarified. “But they have the same philosophy as the early anarchists: They do not believe in government. Anytime anything bad happens to government, that’s a victory to them. And that’s what’s happened. We have absolute gridlock created by a group of people who represent few Americans. But it makes it extremely difficult to get things done.”

The Tea Party represents so few Americans that they helped obliterate the Democrats’ House majority and its hold on state legislatures in 2010. So there’s that.

There’s also the fact that the only violence connected to the Tea Party was when union thugs attacked them. Tea Partiers have been victims of Big Labor’s statist violence, not perpetrators.

There’s also the fact that Harry Reid is a nasty little demagogue.

The Democratic Party is a fascinating beast these days. Tea Partiers key off the Founding Fathers for inspiration and Democrats label them “terrorists” and “anarchists,” while President Barack Obama keeps lauding Islam for playing some mythical role in the founding of America.
