Harry Reid’s grip on the Senate is the reason that President Obama knows he can get away with his lawless moves. Reid’s Senate will never, ever act against him.

In a pair of over-the-top moments today, Reid demonstrated just how far he will go to smear Republicans and protect Obama. In the first, Reid merely says that he hopes GOP opposition to Obama isn’t based on raaacism.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on Friday that he hopes Republicans are opposing President Barack Obama based on substance and not based on his race.

“It has been obvious that they’re doing everything they can to make him fail. I hope that…that’s based on substance, not the fact that he’s African American,” he told Nevada Public Radio, KNPR.

To take but one issue, the IRS union must be raaacist too, since they want no part of Obamacare.

In the second, Reid merely compared the Tea Party to the anarchists who started World War I.

Senate Majority Leader and Nevada Democrat Sen. Harry Reid compared the tea party to the 20th century anarchist movement during a Friday interview on KNPR.

“Who is the tea party? Well, understand, when I was in school, I studied government, among other things, and prior to World War I and after World War I we had the anarchists,” Reid began. “Now they were violent — you know, some say that’s what started World War I, the anarchy moment — but they were violent. They did damage to property and they did physical damage to people.”

“The modern anarchists don’t do that — that’s the tea party,” Reid clarified. “But they have the same philosophy as the early anarchists: They do not believe in government. Anytime anything bad happens to government, that’s a victory to them. And that’s what’s happened. We have absolute gridlock created by a group of people who represent few Americans. But it makes it extremely difficult to get things done.”

The Tea Party represents so few Americans that they helped obliterate the Democrats’ House majority and its hold on state legislatures in 2010. So there’s that.

There’s also the fact that the only violence connected to the Tea Party was when union thugs attacked them. Tea Partiers have been victims of Big Labor’s statist violence, not perpetrators.

There’s also the fact that Harry Reid is a nasty little demagogue.

The Democratic Party is a fascinating beast these days. Tea Partiers key off the Founding Fathers for inspiration and Democrats label them “terrorists” and “anarchists,” while President Barack Obama keeps lauding Islam for playing some mythical role in the founding of America.

Reid conveniently bypassed the true anarchists among us, the Occupy movement, that really was violent, really did do property damage and rape, and was most closely aligned with....the Democrats and Harry Reid.

The senator from Nevada obviously failed history if he believes anarchists started WW1. The assasination of Arch-Duke Ferdinand was a political hit by operatives trained, funded, and armed by the Serbian secret polce. Princip was one of 5 assasins waiting in Sarejevo that day and but for fate taking a hand in the form of a wrong term leaving the town hall.......The Serbian use of the name "The Black Hand" for the group carrying out the attack was an effort to create plausible deniability. Princip freely admitted Serbia's role and the evidence of Serbia's involvement was so obvious that Austria-Hungary had its' causus belli handed it to them on a platter...and the slaughter commenced. Anarchists, not even remotely in play.

Anarchists? Really? Does he know what the word means? Seriously, I have been on many message boards/commented on many websites (like the WashPost). It is really amazing to me how far off base the Left is in their understanding of the Tea Party Movement. I think they think "they" ARE anarchists and racists and idiots. As opposed to the members of the Tea Party I know who are educated and bright and diverse, and certainly not racist or violent. They (me too) just want our Constitutional government back. We don't want government controlling every aspect of our lives from cradle to grave. We don't want to continue to run up trillion dollar deficits. We believe in personal responsibility.
And that makes us anarchists???

As an aside, I have become pretty much done (and this is new) with the GOP. We need a third party. But the branding issue that comes with the tea party (see above) would make it impossible. It needs to be called something else. I propose the Common Sense Party or the Federalists. It needs to be a fiscally conservative, socially libertarian and hawkish on defense, coupled with a deep sense of the limitations of government and federalist principles. I think you could peel some democrats off with that formulation.

Islam did have a role in the founding of the US. Muslim pirates and potentates had a stranglehold on much of the Mediterranean and on trade with the MENA and the Orient. Trying to escape that stranglehold caused Europeans to first seek a way around Africa to avoid them and then to seek a way to the East by sailing west to avoid them. Islamic rule of Spain being replaced by Christian rule led directly to Columbus' voyage.

I'm curious. Did John McCain stand up and attack the slanderous comments from the little twit? I doubt that Obama's BFF said a word. Did any other conservative/Republican Senator condemn the attack? Is there any wonder that the GOP keeps losing elections? Why can they fight back against this crap?

I love how he says the modern "anarchists" don't get violent, but the Tea Party does. COMPLETELY WRONG. Utterly backwards.

Someone that delusional needs to spend a couple days under observation to see if he's competent to walk the streets, let alone be allowed to keep public office.

God, I wish the Mob would get tired of his dried out old carcass...
