Wonder why she did not abort her own child. Doesn't she have a young child? Not married? Focused regret?

She's made it difficult for her to even win in her own state anymore.

Mind-numbingly out-of-touch strategy by the Democrats here. Even if Davis' position is totally heart-felt, the fact that the national media went into a collective orgasm about it means that for 99.9 percent of the people in Texas, any mention of Wendy Davis' name is now linked to late-term abortions. It's the kind of plan thought up by people in New York, Washington or California, since it puts her not only at odds with the majority of Texas voters, it means the Democrats' strategy to win back Texas by boosting turnout of mostly Catholic Hispanic voters will have to cope with Wendy being the most high-profile pol in the state that church leaders in Texas would have major issues with (that isn't to say that a candidate Davis in 2014 might not still win a majority of Hispanic votes in a governor's race against Greg Abbott, but the margins figure to be miniscule when her only hope is for the margins to be massive and the turnout to be huge).

Charlies, it is me again. What would Buddha have said? This is not polemical, but curiosity.

The nation was fed a story of a brave Texas Senator who was chosen by her Democrat delegation to stand for women's "rights." Then the nation was lead to believe that the protesters who showed up in Austin were just there so they could lend their voices to Wendy Davis. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The Texas Democrats coordinated the Davis filibuster with the national party. Both Obama, and Nancy Pelosi, were advised of the impending filibuster. Want ads seeking protesters to support Davis appeared on Craig's List well in advance of her filibuster. When you called the Austin phone number listed on the ad, you were told that the protesters would be paid by Planned Parenthood.

The whole fiasco was organized between the national Democrat Party, Battleground Texas (the Dem group trying to turn Texas blue) and Planned Parenthood using a woman who was more than willing to have her face splashed all across national TV in a precursor for her run for Governor of Texas in 2014.

National Democrats wanted to put Wendy Davis into the national consciousness and this was the way to do it. But some thing odd happened on the way to the halls of the Texas Senate; Texans, not being paid by anyone, showed up in Austin in droves to protest Wendy Davis, herself, lead by Senator Donna Campbell, M.D. who, as an ER physician, understands the harm that is done to Texas women by Texas abortionists every day when she treats them in the ER, trying to correct the mistakes made by these abortionists.

And the big lie? That the bill would prevent women from getting abortions in Texas. So while Planned Parenthood could plunk out millions of dollars to hire people to protest the bill, they didn't seem to think they could afford to update their clinics to meet standard safety regulations attached to any ambulatory surgical center.

So while the lap dog media was more than willing to cover Wendy Davis and her pick sneakers, there is little mention of the recent $3+ million settlement that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast just made due to its falsely billing of Medicaid for medical treatments to women that they never made. The State of Texas alone will be reimbursed $1.3 million.

Dishonesty abounded in this whole fake issue. The people of Texas, nay, the nation, supports limiting abortions to 20 weeks and under, except in protecting the life of the mother.

Wendy Davis will prove to be a flash-in-the-pan. She now has to decide if she wants to run for Governor, or run to maintain her Senate seat. If she choose her Senate seat, she is going to have to buy faster shoes to defeat Konnie Burton. Remember, Davis won last time by a very narrow margin, 51/49%

Either way, my guess is "Davis Is Done" will be the headline next November.
