At the time Tony Weiner started sexting and phone sexing his 22-year-old online friend, he was splashing himself and his wife all over glossy magazines, professing that he’d been healed. So keep that in mind.
Anthony Weiner came up with an extraordinary excuse yesterday to explain why he went back to sexting after supposedly kicking the habit — he was suffering from marital woes.
In a startling e-mail letter sent to rally campaign supporters, Weiner said he sought hot-blooded female consolation on the Internet when he and his wife, Huma Abedin, hit a rocky patch in their relationship last summer.
“Hot-blooded”? It was online chats and pic swaps. He had a beautiful woman (who, if he wasn’t a famous politician, would be miles out of his nebbish league) right there in the house with him. Well, supposedly — Buzzfeed tells us that “she has her own life.” One week after he resigned from Congress, Weiner was on the Internet seeking cyber sex again.
I don’t pretend to know what’s going on between Weiner and Huma, but something there ain’t right. She’s a Muslim, he’s a Jew, and they make the weirdest power couple since, well, the Clintons.
