Gee, if only there was a remote, inaccessible prison to which we could ship the worst of the worst of captured Al Qaeda terrorists. Wouldn’t that be great?

Hundreds of convicts, including senior members of al Qaeda, broke out of Iraq’s Abu Ghraib jail as comrades launched a military-style assault to free them, authorities said on Monday.

The deadly raid on the high-security jail happened as Sunni Muslim militants are gaining momentum in their insurgency against the Shi’ite-led government that came to power after the U.S. invasion to oust Saddam Hussein.

Suicide bombers drove cars packed with explosives to the gates of the prison on the outskirts of Baghdad on Sunday night and blasted their way into the compound, while gunmen attacked guards with mortars and rocket-propelled grenades.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton immediately rushed to the nearest microphone to blame the breakout on the summer flop movie White House Down.

Many bloggers and military writers predicted this would happen, personally, I am surprised it has happened sooner...

They probably should have removed that copy of The Great Escape from the prison DVD library.

They just wanted to get to London to join the celebration of the new royal baby.

Or at least that's the impression I get from watching the news. I guess this story isn't important.

Did all 500 first pose in a giant pyramid naked just to laugh at us before melting away in the night on 8 buses plus a convoy of Toyota pick up trucks?
