In perhaps the least surprising development of the night, the NAACP is going all out to continue the prosecution of George Zimmerman. The group announced its intentions in a press release.

July 13, 2013

(Orlando) The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People released the following statement on the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the killing of Trayvon Martin:

NAACP Chairman Roslyn M. Brock:

“Today, justice failed Trayvon Martin and his family,” said Roslyn M. Brock, Chairman of the NAACP. “We call immediately for the Justice Department to conduct an investigation into the civil rights violations committed against Trayvon Martin. This case has re-energized the movement to end racial profiling in the United States.”

NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous:

“We are outraged and heartbroken over today’s verdict,” said Benjamin Todd Jealous, President and CEO of the NAACP. “We stand with Trayvon’s family and we are called to act. We will pursue civil rights charges with the Department of Justice, we will continue to fight for the removal of Stand Your Ground laws in every state, and we will not rest until racial profiling in all its forms is outlawed.”

NAACP Florida State Conference President Adora Obi Nweze:

“We lost a young man due to senseless violence, but justice did not prevail,” said Adora Obi Nweze, President of the Florida NAACP State Conference. “Last year we pushed for the arrest of George Zimmerman and a thorough investigation and trial. Today, we are still called to act. No one should be allowed to use this law to commit a senseless crime again.”

“Stand your ground” laws were never part of the Zimmerman trial. His defense argued ordinary self-defense, and won. The NAACP, then, is seeking nothing less than the eradication of the right of self-defense.

Complicating the NAACP’s wish to continue prosecuting Zimmerman, the Federal Bureau of Investigations probed Zimmerman in 2012 and found no evidence of racism in him.

It’s weird, I tell ya. I don’t recall the NAACP asking the DOJ to charge OJ Simpson with violating the civil rights, especially ‘the most basic right ‘to life,’ of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

It is too great a stretch to assert the NAACP "seeking nothing less than the eradication of the right of self-defense" -- I am sure they support the right of black men and women to defend themselves against "creepy-ass crackers."

In America as it is now, with the government we have now, what are the chances the members of the jury will be audited by the IRS?

Boy are you guys shortsighted.. Trayvon was frightened -- judge for yourself from his comment to his girlfriend about being followed by an "ass-cracker"..

What school did you go to if you don't know the TSA-like body-cavity-probing perverts now inhabiting the police state are called "ass-crackers"..

Some unknowable creepy pervert is following you at night and you take some evasive move and he's still tracking you.. so you prepare for defending yourself... TOO BAD TRAYVON DIDN'T HAVE CONCEALED CARRY AND BE ARMED...

Don't you see how this should have been what 2nd amendment supporters should say to Eric Holder... TRAYVON WOULD HAVE BEEN JUSTIFIED UNDER FLORIDA LAW if he had shot the creepy pervert stalking him...

The city police keep trying to keep black people disarmed, unlike the Deacons who followed MLK marchers... that much is known from the court records... what did you think a "creepy ass-cracker" was... the cops in NYC stop black kids every time they walk on the street and do invasive searches... why don't you go see the NYC record.. disappointed in PJstuff.. ttyl

When Eric the Red Holder files a civil suit against Zimmerman, it will be timed to have the most effect on the 2014 elections, and will have no merit in law whatsoever.

justice [juhs-tis], noun - getting exactly what you want irrespective of facts or rational processes implemented to ensure equitable treatment under law.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^
So I can just go ahead and shoot this change over to Webster since now we know what justice isn't, right?

Found this on HuffPo from our friends at BuzzFeed...

BuzzFeed reports that a petition urging the DOJ to take action had already garnered 115,000 signatures three hours after it was posted last night. As of this writing, the NAACP's site is down.

GZ wasn't "standing his ground". He was laying on his back ON THE GROUND and was on his way to being BEATEN TO DEATH by an out-of-control druggie thug. The NAALCP seems to want to outlaw any form of self-defense.

They should have no trouble getting Holder to prosecute Zimmerman. He is, after all, one of them but unfortunately, he has already displayed his politically correct leanings when his department supported the protests. One can only theorize if the DOJ might have had a hand in the incredible numbers of tweets/posts threatening violence should Zimmerman be acquitted.

I disagree on the idea that Holder wanted to get the hot potato in his lap... he'll be expected to perform and CAN'T DO IT... and the cyber attack on the petition to get Holder to act would sort of confirm that DOJ's cyber-attack people were dispatched to limit signing of the petition.. 100,000 signatures is nothing compared to other related petitions and was limited by the cyber DOS attacking at MoveOn for one...

And the tweeting would all seem focused on getting riots started, so they can attack white-europeans and conservatives with guns, for obvious reasons.. they don't want this to go through civilized channels unless they can make it fail SOMEWHERE IN A STATE CHANNEL since states are rankling Obama's nerves with the State's Rights own defenses against the Obama mis-administration...

I think we should all sign the petition to get the Trayvon hot potato into Obama's trouble-making hands... ttyl

Nobody's advocating abolishing the right to self-defense. They're pushing to end white people's right to self-defense. Remember, the black economy rests on 3 legs: affirmative-action govt jobs; welfare; and crime. Natch, pro criminals are gonna be behind abolishing whites' self-defense rights. Oh, how did the civil rights trial of O.J. end up? He violated two whites' right to life.

Folks, taxpayers hard earned dollars, siphoned from the IRS (hey, remember that great non-political, unbiased group of federally unionized employees, led by none other Mr. Trumka)for puposes of the DOJ fomenting racial disturbances across the USA???Here's proof!!!
Is there proof of this administration’s efforts directly involved in influencing this State-level trial???YES!!!!
Judicial Watch reports that the Obama-Holder's "The Fixer" Justice Department has already spent at least $3,800.00 agitating racial discord in FL by financing protests to help the public peacefully express their rage.
The "Community Relations Service" is DOJ's division responsible for this reckless behavior. The unit is led by President Obama’s Harvard classmate and campaign donor/worker, Grande H. Lum.
According to Front Page Magazine, Lum’s taxpayer-funded (read:IRS-OBAMA using it as his piggy-bank) agents are providing, “technical assistance, conciliation, and onsite mediation during demonstrations planned in Sanford…”
When all these facts are examined together, two huge unanswered questions appear.
How is it legal for the DOJ to literally help plan and execute racial/political protests aimed at denigrating one private American citizen before the facts of the legal case are even known; and what does the Obama Administration have to gain by starting, or at least condoning, a race war in FL?
Now, are Americans convinced this is a tyranny????Wake-up sheeple!! Is it time to Impeach???Pray, Amen. God Bless America. Besides, if DOJ charges Zimmermann with civil rights violations...isn't this double jeopardy??? Justice for some and none for others...sounds like King George III on steroids. Join a Tea Party.

The federal civil rights trial will allow the "O" administration to stretch out this travesty for another election cycle; um I mean, until the truth comes out.

Look, here are what the rules for double-jeopardy should be:

The criminal trial has precedence. If found not-guilty, that's it. If found guilty, then civil trials for damages may proceed. End of story.

Should Zimmerman now be immune from charges that maybe he jay-walked while following Martin? Well, yes, he should. Though it's a bit tricky to argue just why.

Amazing! It behooves me how deeply these racists representing the Biggest Bigot organization the NAACP have condition responsed the black population to react with prejudice against a true, melting pot, individual American Citizen, Zimmerman, just trying to protect himself and community from a thug appearing to be contemplating a crime within his community.
They are wanting more harassing charges brought down upon this now exonerated Zimmerman, solely due to the fact a Black man was killed.
The MSM seems to condone and expect the DOJ to follow the NAACP's orders.

I notice the Skittles package and drink cup were not empty, smashed or damaged as they would be if Zimmerman attacked Martin. Rather the containers have the intact appearance of items placed out of harms way to be retrieved after martin with his hands now free, attacked and trounced (cracker)Zimmerman. Where were the items found in respect to the point of the confrontation?

Do some research on a phenom called "Lean" = dextromethorphan + codeine or hydrocodone + sprite/soft drink/watermelon juice + skittles.

Saint Trayvon wasn't.
