CNN says the Obama scandals are finally taking a toll on the Chicago Messiah.

A CNN/ORC survey released Monday shows Obama with a 45 percent approval rating, down from his 53 percent mark in mid-May. Fifty-four percent say they disapprove of how Obama is handling his job.

The poll also finds that 49 percent believe Obama is honest to 50 percent who do not — the first time a majority has not found the president to be trustworthy.

A majority, 53 percent, also expresses doubts he can “manage the government effectively,” with 47 percent showing confidence.

The president lost sizeable ground among independents, with 37 percent approval and 61 percent disapproval, down from his 47-49 percent disapproval last month.

That last number looks really bad for The One, until we recall that Obama lost independents in 2012 to Mitt Romney yet still managed to win. In fact, now that he’s re-elected, how much does he really care about his approval rating at all? Even amidst the scandals he is poised for a major victory on immigration, which will permanently change the electorate in his favor. He has likely calculated that not much matters outside that bill, and if he gets a win there, any weakness in the polls is temporary and will take care of itself. As long as Democrats hang onto the Senate in 2014, Obama is invulnerable to public opinion.

I bet he absolutely gets off on the unpopularity of his actions. The element of force on unwilling Americans is part of the thrill.

If that is his calculation the sad news is he's exactly right.

His popularity doesn't matter because he's never running for office again. What matters is he got his Obamacare monstrosity passed and he's on the five yard line with his immigration bill. His mission to "fundamentally transform America" is almost complete. That being the case I doubt he gives a frog's fat a$$ what anyone in America thinks of him.

This is all temporary. The apathetic electorate has a short memory.
Obama's propagandists will find a way to convince the public
that he's actually trying to govern...and his approval will go back up.

Hope I'm wrong.

"probably" is either a euphemism for "insanity", or the author of this title is "probably" not qualified to interpret all of the obvious signs of Barack Obama's agenda. Bottom line: HE DOES NOT CARE AT ALL.

Why? Because, he does not 'need to care'; he has achieved the "fundamental transformation of America' that he announced 5 days before taking office - and that 'transformation' is not at all what the establishment pundits on any subject concerning politics, history, and America's welfare, think that it is: He has 'fundamentally transformed' the Systems by which America formerly functioned, to 'his system', which he is 'using', but, has kept 'UN-transparent'. He is a law unto himself - so far - and one that is contrary to the Law of America's origins. There is no 'representative democracy' in America any longer. Those who 'think' there is, are those who permitted its loss.

More revelations about phony signatures placing Obama on his first ballot, without which he wouldn't have been able to even run. He was not legitimately elected. He is not a legitimate president.

Obama has achieved his objective of having organised and assembled (under the radar) a massive database of his own under OFA that can be used as a veritable nuclear threat in the political arena.
The Alinsky rules are easy to implement and we're seeing the "pressure" of
that in the chaos it's causing; even today; Obama is demagoguing and lying about the deflecting the NSA surveillance issue being "transparent" and that he's "no Chaney". Power politics is truly a soul-destroying monster; and there are consequences to that.

As long as Obama has McCain and Rubio in his pocket, he's probably at least reasonably happy.

The cart's before the horse and both are out of the barn. Yaaaay Hillary in 2016 and 2020 and then dictat for life and passing the torch to Chelsea and Chelsea II and paying 100 trillion dollars in reparations to the rest of the world for Coca-Cola, A-Bombs and other misdeeds.

His popularity is irrelevant now. He still gets to take $100 million vacations, and will retire to a $300 million home in Hawaii, with free body guards, free health care, and a generous pension. And he will never be held accountable for the death, destruction and chaos he has caused. Even Stalin didn't get a deal like that! Not bad for a dope smoking delinquent who never would have been able to get into any college on his own.

remember peggy Lee? "Is that all there is?" NO, he, maybe you, and many others forget there is a price to pay, not in this life, but a pretty dreadful price, a pretty final judge, real justice, and he is a real loser in the eternal scheme of things... a compact the O made, gained the world, lost his soul....needs prayer

That's up to God, Thom. I 'd like to see him pay at least some penalty in this life, for the damage he's done, something that would wipe that fecal-eating grin off his smug face.

He proved in 2010 that he has no coattails whatsoever when he's not running himself. (In 2010, he PRETENDED that he was actually running, and Democrats still dropped like flies.)

He's less popular now than he was four years ago... and I don't see his popularity gaining substantially over the next year. It'll be interesting to see Democrats running for re-election by distancing themselves from the President (which is exactly what they did in 2010).

Basically, the man is extremely good at running for office and winning (and using dirty tricks as necessary to get over the finish line). I have not seen evidence that he's very good at much else.

Actually, I think he's shown a marked talent in giving aid and comfort to our Islamist enemies. And murdering Mexicans with Fast and Furious. And harassing conservatives via the IRS. And spying on everyone via the NSA. And in standing by and letting our diplomats die in Libya. And helping "his" people at the expense of whites. And.... and.... and....

Of course that may not be the way you meant the word "good". I suspect you meant something like "moral" while I mean "effective"....
