In January 2013, after the president had been re-elected and before the IRS abuse scandal broke, President Obama’s campaign was crowing about two things. It was crowing about its love of all things data, and it was crowing that it had morphed from a presidential campaign into a permanent “social welfare” organization. Its name had to change, from Obama for America, to Organizing for America, to Organizing for Action. But the personnel stayed in place, and the group’s massive database went seamlessly along with them into the new future of permacampaigning.

NBC’s Michael Isikoff reported on OfA’s shapeshifting on January 28, 2013.

Organizing For Action (OFA), the advocacy group set up in recent weeks by the president’s top political aides, has already acquired access to the database under a leasing agreement with the Obama campaign, Katie Hogan, a former Obama campaign aide who is now serving as spokeswoman for the lobbying group, told NBC News. The information will be used to unleash an “army of the door knockers” to back the president’s legislative agenda as well as raise money for “issue ads” – particularly in crucial congressional districts, she said.

Dubbed the “nuclear codes” by campaign aides, the Obama campaign database is widely described as one of the most powerful tools ever developed in American politics. According to published reports, it contains the names of at least 4 million Obama donors – as well as millions of others (the campaign has consistently refused to say how many) compiled from voter registration rolls and other public databases. In addition, the campaign used sophisticated computer programs — with code names like “Narwhal” — to collect information through social media: Anybody who contacted the campaign through Facebook had their friends and “likes” downloaded. If they contacted  the campaign website through mobile apps, cellphone numbers and address books were downloaded. Computer “cookies” captured Web browsing and online spending habits.

Obama campaign managers Jim Messina and Stephanie Cutter made the one-inch leap from the presidential campaign to the post-presidential campaign. They dropped a name tag on one end of a table and picked up a new one on the other end. The IRS never questioned them or the group or its purpose at all.

“The way it’s organized, we legally can’t participate in elections,” Stephanie Cutter, a top Obama campaign official who now serves on the board of OFA, said at a recent Politico-sponsored inaugural event. “But that doesn’t mean the issues we’re organizing around won’t mobilize the American people to vote for things — to vote for that economy we’ve been working for, to vote for immigration reform, to vote for common sense gun reforms. I think we can affect elections, we just can’t legally be involved in them — for this particular organization.”

Yes. You have the same vendors/services involved in both - I don't know why this is not getting more attention. Google's request to make the data gathering more "transparent" is a nice smokescreen and loosening the rules could make it even easier for political groups to collect data on the public.

Of course there's overlap! Folks from Google and other high tech firms built the campaign database and are now working on E. Schmidt's new progressive data mining op and OFA. The new NSA facility is within 50 miles of Google's in Utah, in the silicon slopes area. Not a coincidence. They share knowledge; they don't have to hack into Google but they have the ability.

I'm sure they have replicated the data mining in OFA into Prism...or is it the other way around? Who can tell.

The scary thing is I doubt that there is a centrally controlled conspiracy to use the NSA database to get Obama reelected. Instead, we probably have thousands of determined left-wing political people who applied skills learned at their day jobs for Google, federal agencies like the IRS, federal contractors, etc. to build a campaign database for the Obama campaign. They figured out how to identify persuadable unlikely voters and get them to vote for President Obama. In the case of African Americans, any meat head union member who can drive a van can increase the turnout of Obama voters. Identifying potential Obama voters among military members and rural voters and requires considerably more skill.

In addition to playing offense with the OfA database and the effort to groom unlikely voters into votes for Obama, there does appear to be a defense strategy to intimidate influential likely supporters for the Republicans. This is where the Obama campaign likely goes from legal to illegal. Individual Americans appear to have been targeted for IRS audits, for example. I'd be looking very closely at Anita Dunn's husband Robert Bauer, Whitehouse council Jan 3, 2010 to June 30, 2011 followed by work for the Obama campaign. http://www.perkinscoie.com/rbauer/ He has the right connections and expertise to direct a defensive campaign of lawfare against the political right. Probably mostly just "nudged" already left-leaning federal employees here and there to unfairly apply existing laws and regulations in ways very unfavorable to Republicans. Unfortunately for Obama, full-scale lawfare leaves an enormous paper trail.

BINGO! SPOT ON! Now, let's analyze where this is going to take We The Sheeple! Toss into this mix: Sao Paulo Forum, Lula, Castro, Brazil and VOILA! PRESTO! quite possibly a new Amerika will emerge.
What do: data mining, superpacs, Obama's constant campaigning, and the 3 D's::defend, deflect and disinform, have in common? Destroy America's Exceptionalism, it's Excellence, Constitution and Rule of Law!!! In other words -individuality vs. the collective!!!
Need proof? Well let's look at what's happening with America's:1)Reilgion, 2) Education, 3) financial sector and 4) governance.
) Judeo-Christian religious entities are under direct, frontal attack.
2) Education, once a "shining light on the hill" is now 25th in world surveys. Currently used as an indoctrination, recruitment, training center(s) for Progressive New Left Activist philosophy.
3) Financial sector, once the bastion of America's capitalism, is now morphing into a top down, command, socialistic-type economic model.
4) Lastly, Governance! A corporate-type of societal organization is evolving, whereby an omnipotent Executive is all empowered by it's "Board-of-Directors"(crony-capitalists, lobbyists, Elite Washingtonians, Media,Marketing, i.e., Press Secretary, et al). This organization has a Legislative(Legal) "Department" and (Auditing)"adjudication(Judicial)placing" on this new, re-drawn Organizational chart. After all, isn't this George Orwell's "1984" scenario? All seeing, all knowing Big Brother = All seeing, all knowing Big Executive? OH! Almost forgot! Mr. Biden! He's "employed" in the Marketing Department...you know, "The Mouth!" Bolsheviks vs. Mensheviks all over again, and again and again.Pray. Amen. God Bless America. Join a Tea Party. Like this article lays out...very logical sequence of events. Will take (maybe) 2 generations to reverse course.

And how much information has the Obama Big Data operation garnered from the IRS? A list of wealthy Democrats who can be approached? Add in the Democracy Alliance and George Soros. And now Larry Page and Google. The Chicago Way has taken over Washington DC for Big Government, well financed. Deeply, deeply disturbing to say the least. And crooked government seems to have lasting power. Can the simple fact that their ideas don't work bring them down?

The Obama campaign has had a remarkable database from day one. To give you an example: I was called during the Wisconsin primary by the Obama campaign in 2008 to get out and vote in the primary for Obama.

Not remarkable you say?

1) They called to get me to vote in the VERMONT primary, but I hadn't lived in Vermont for a dozen years.

2) I hadn't voted Democrat for four years before that. (I voted for the more sane candidate with a chance of winning, which in Vermont means the socialist rather than the communist.)

3) They tracked me down through 5 moves and 3 different states.

4) They found my unlisted number and called me by name.

Honestly, I believe the NSA copied its spying program from the Obama campaign organization, not the other way around.

I read quite a few articles about how OFA's database influenced the election. Here's a disturbing quote from Technology Review:

"Few events in American life other than a presidential election touch 126 million adults, or even a significant fraction that many, on a single day. Certainly no corporation, no civic institution, and very few government agencies ever do. Obama did so by reducing every American to a series of numbers."

Mildly spooky? Really? It is corruption and threatens to destroy what is left of this country. Where is the military? They took an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution...it is being shredded right now.

*sigh* The use of rhetorical understatement is lost, isn't it?

>>Reading this story in the context of the just-concluded campaign, it all seemed mildly spooky.

Mildly? These people don’t wish me and mine well, and now they may have the computational wherewithal to do me real harm. Mildly isn’t the word I would employ.

The fact of the matter is that Obama Inc is a criminal regime in all ways which matter. And it is not hyperbole to suggest they executed so many illegal acts, that even Mafia Inc should tip their hat to them. No kidding around.

So, does anyone in their right mind - no pun intended - believe this criminal regime did not tap into NSA's vast resources for election fraud? Do pigs fly?

Most significantly, the NSA is being used - aside from its true mandate to spy on foreign & domestic terror - to compile lists of "political dissidents".
