The Obama White House Has a New Line to Push Amnesty. It's Ridiculous and Despicable at the Same Time

That line only manages to conflate full citizenship with illegal immigration and, if we had a nation of people who cared about such things, insult the entire citizenry. It acutely insults the chumps and suckers who came here legally and respected our sovereignty throughout their process of becoming Americans themselves. That it comes so close to the Boston bombing, in which the immigration system has come into sharp focus as our security Achilles heel, is just icing.

While I realize that this president spent so many of his formative years outside the US that he may not have much of an emotional connection to the place, there are some of us whose families came to the US quite legally before the *Revolutionary War. But we “came from someplace else” at some point, even though we’ve been in America since before it was actually a nation, so we’re just like the border jumper who came here yesterday, committed identity theft today to obtain his false paperwork, and is looking forward to a bright tomorrow doing one of those jobs that the millions of unemployed Americans “just won’t do.” We’re just like the guy who comes here on a student visa, having no intention to be a student for very long. He just came here however he could, abusing our idiotic immigration system, so he could collect welfare and send it back to wherever he came from. Yeah, same same. No difference.

American citizens born and naturalized just might as well face the fact that in the Obama White House, we do not have anyone representing us. We just don’t.

More: As commenter jlanecombs points out, Native Americans came from someplace else too. **Specifically, they’re believed to have walked across a land bridge that spanned what’s now the Bering Strait from Siberia thousands of years ago. So Obama’s new line breaks down on old facts.

*For low-information liberals: Google “George Washington” or “Declaration of Independence.” The Declaration was written more than 100 years ago, so you may find it confusing. George Washington was a white man, so you may already despise him. Bear with me. He was important to your understanding of the term “Revolutionary War,” which is important to understanding this post.

**For low-information liberals, I apologize for writing about things that happened so long ago. Anything that happened more than eight months ago, according to the Obama White House, is a “long time ago” and doesn’t matter. I just can’t help myself.
