Unbelievable.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said in response to a question about the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terror attack that it “happened a long time ago.”

“Let’s be clear,” said Carney. “Benghazi happened a long time ago. We are unaware of any agency blocking an employee who would like to appear before Congress to provide information related to Benghazi.”

The question was about reports that Benghazi whistleblowers are being prevented from coming forward.

Video at the link.

On September 12, the day after the attack, President Obama said “I want people around the world to hear me: To all those who would do us harm, no act of terror will go unpunished.”

Apparently we have to define “act of terror” to understand what the president was really saying. The whistleblowers’ legal counsel, Victoria Toensing, says that both Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have been aware of the allegations of abuse against the whistleblowers for at least two weeks. Toensing also said that both Obama and Kerry are aware that the State Department is obstructing the House investigation into the attack.

On the other hand, Fox reports today that the mastermind of the attack is still walking around free even though the US knows who he is.

The mastermind of the man-caused disaster in Benghazi walks free, while Americans who want to provide information on the attack face punishment.

When I first heard Mr Carney's name, Art Carney immediately popped into my head, who played the stupid but lovable sewer workman, Ed Norton, in the old TV show"The Honeymooners". I wondered if Obama's Carney would be as stupid as Ed Norton was. And he IS!! In fact, I'd say Norton was the smarter of the two. This Carney guy ought to resign before Congress FORCES him to for sheer incompetence and the apparent inability to say ANYTHING logical,well-informed or intelligent. Obama's cabinet people DO seem awfully stupid, as a group. Perhaps His Emperorness needs a bunch of idiots around him so he can look smart by contrast. If so, it ain't workin', Mr. President.

"No terror act will go unpunished"—unless it happened 6 months ago.

Does anyone out there remember the uber serious Stephen Early?....he was Franklin Roosevelt's Press Secretary for all of those terrible years, and he defined the position.

Compare to this adolescent Carney.

A "carney" used to be a term for a carnival barker.

Remember how the left crucified George Bush for not preventing the 9/11 attacks because a daily briefing memo warned that the Taliban/Al Quada might use planes to attack the U.S. Remember that very ambiguous memo that said so much in a couple of lines, of MAYBE an attack, not saying when, where, how, or who.

So where's the same criticism against Obama for IGNORING specific written messages from Russia AND Syria NAMING Tsaranaev as a Russian terrorist living in the US and involved with Al Quada. The messages not only NAMED Tsaranaev, but named other terrorists he was affiliated with and where he was spending his time and what mosques and imams he was with. EXACT warnings to Obama/Napolitano/Clinton resulted only in putting him on a watch list...which list misspelled his name allowing him to go to Russia and spend six months in a terrorist camp! And when he came home? US "Intelligence" had "cleared him".

So Bush is crucified for not acting on an ambiguous sentence; but Obama gets off scott free on terrorist warnings from other countries?

Yup. We're frogs in a pot of water that's gotten too hot for us to escape.

This administration is reprehensible. It figures it can cover things up and ignore them so time passes, and then when the subject's brought up, "it happened a long time ago", let it go!

Fast & Furious, Benghazi, Boston bombing....what difference does it make? This administration is so inept that it just wants to shuffle everything under the rug.

"Happened a long time ago?" 7 months? "What difference does it make?" Your negligence led to the deaths of 4 Americans?

Flash: perhaps the REAL reason why questions aren't answered is to cover up the government's misconduct and involvement in illegal matters. Fast & Furious got them caught with their pants down dealing guns and getting Americans killed. Benhazi may prove to be a coverup of their illegal involvement is supplying guns to the Syrian Taliban. And as far as naming anyone, let alone an American naturalized the same day Amb. Stevens was murdered in Benghazi, this administration isn't going to do it. No doubt Obama is smoozing with the Muslim Brotherhood so he's going to tell us terrorism no longer exists, ergo no need to call enemy combatants - enemy combatants!

As he mowed down a dozen service personnel at Ft. Hood, Nidal Hassan screamed Alua Akbar! Obama calls this "workplace violence"!

Terrorist attacks in Benghazi killing four Americans was blamed on a movie no one ever heard of, let alone see!!

And after ignoring warnings from Russia AND Syria of Tsaranaev, Biden accuses the brothers as "jihadi wannabe's"!!

This country is going down and everyone's just sitting back and watching! Shame on us all.

It happened a long time ago? Even if that's true, it just means you have been stonewalling for a long time.

This coming from a group that demonizes the last administration at every opportunity. So 9 months is "a long time ago" and 5 years is recent. Gotcha.

I'm wondering how long before the investigation on the Boston Marathon bombing becomes a "happened a long time ago."
Probably when the investigation gets too close to all the security failures that allowed a terror cell to hang out in Boston on the taxpayer dime for several years. Yeah, that might be embarrassing.

One year is a long time ago for this infantilized administration. And remember also, the Constitution is over a hundred years old or something. Old stuff doesn't matter and is best forgotten, you see. And have you noticed that Carney looks like he's twelve or something? The same goes for Ezra Klein, whom I just paraphrased on the Constitution. We are overrun by virtual children.

Carney does look like a kid. Gravitas isn't his thing. Maybe he's supposed to appeal to Obama's younger supporters.
