During her Thursday press conference, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that Wednesday’s sweeping gun control defeat in the Democrat-controlled  Senate is a setback, but not the end, of Democrats’ gun control efforts. During Senate action Wednesday, nine gun control measures came up for votes, and all nine were defeated. Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s “assault” weapons ban went down in flames, with 15 Democrats voting with Republicans to kill it. It fell in a lopsided 60-40 vote.

Going O for 9 is but a fleshwound, says Pelosi:

“The process on where to go from here is we will be collecting any bipartisan sign up as co-sponsors of the bill, which is already bipartisan… What we want also is a vote [in the House],” Pelosi said. The American people can say to the leadership in Congress to Speaker Boehner, ‘Give us a vote.’ As you can see, we’re just not taking no for an answer.”

She means it. Pelosi is a very determined ideologue. The last time Democrats refused to take no as an answer, they passed ObamaCare against the wishes of the majority of Americans. That law is wreaking havoc on the US economy and healthcare system, and it isn’t even fully implemented yet.

N. Pelosi is an "honourable" member of Congress. As Speaker of the House
with other "honourables" ram - rodded the ACA Bill through Congress.

Despite vociferous objections from many Americans who she and her disciples in Congress instead of civil answers to their objections insulted with blanket insults and denigrated their interest.

After which we are told she and many others, most if not all?, of the Congress who followed her orders had not even read the bill in its entirety.
Or at all?

Further did not even know what was in that bill of more than 2000 pages.

More than 100 times more pages than the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States with the Bill of Rights put together.

When did the Constitutional Republic of the USA become the Dictatorship of The Congress/Senate/Judiciary/Executive Commisssariate of the USA?

They each, INCLUDING the Speaker of the House, swear, affirm an oath "... to support and defend the Constitution of the USA. "... that I will
fbear true faith and allegiance to same... without any mental reservations or purposes of evasion".

The FUNDAMENTAL Law of this "Country of Law NOT of Men" WAS? the
Constitution. In that document procedures are spelled out in detail for amendment, change of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

That Congress/Senate/Judiciary/Executive do not like the Rill of Rights or any part of that Billl is not quite the same as ram-rodding the ACA Bill into law. And is otherwise irrelevant. Like it or not they took an oath to the American People to defend and uphold it. AS IT STANDS at the time of their oaths.

There are restrictions to amendment of Rights of Americans. Congress/Sente/Judiciary/Executive are legally bound by those restrictions.

Amendment to the Constitution with its Bill of Rights is lawful ONLY after application to and assent from We The People. That IS the Law in this nation in which the FORMAL CONSENT of the governed is FUNDAMENTAL to the government of the citizens.

Are we to suppose the "representatives of the People" do not read the document of the Law to which they swear/affirm oath? On which all their privileges as "honourables" are based?

What is going on here. What sort of cloud cuckoo-land have we become? I think we should be told.

Well, eventually she will lose. Gun ownership has quadrupled over the last 20 years, and more and more are getting interested in it thanks to all this faux outrage being payed to it by the media. Most people feel that they better buy a gun now before someone bans it, so its only going up. More gun owners = Less power for Piglosi and FineSwine. This last rush, I saw more new gun owners buying their first gun than I have ever seen in my life and thats a good 30 years in the firearms business. Good luck there Nancy, we wont take bans for an answer.

She's right, and the sad fact is time is on her side. They only have to erode our liberty a tiny little bit every decade, because once it's gone we never seem to get it back.
