Three years ago, President Barack Obama hosted Kimberly Munley at his State of the Union Address. She and her police sergeant partner stopped Maj. Nidal Hassan’s terrorist attack on Ft. Hood, in which thirteen people were murdered.
Munley says that in the years since, Obama has not lived up to a promise that he directly made to her.
“Betrayed is a good word,” former Sgt. Munley told ABC News in a tearful interview to be broadcast tonight on “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline.”
“Not to the least little bit have the victims been taken care of,” she said. “In fact they’ve been neglected.”

Munley, since laid off from her job with the base’s civilian police force, was shot three times as she and her partner, Sgt. Mark Todd, confronted Hasan, who witnesses said had shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he opened fire on soldiers being processed for deployment to Afghanistan.
As Munley lay wounded, Todd fired the five bullets credited with bringing Hasan down.
Despite extensive evidence that Hasan was in communication with al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki prior to the attack, the military has denied the victims a Purple Heart and is treating the incident as “workplace violence” instead of “combat related” or terrorism.
Munley’s interview will air on ABC tonight.
Ft. Hood was clearly an Islamic terrorist attack. Obama eventually killed Awlaki in a drone strike, and in a separate strike, killed Awlaki’s 16-year-old son.
Many of Hassan’s surviving victims continue to suffer from wounds and from post-traumatic stress disorder. Obama promised Munley that the victims of the attack would be taken care of. Instead, his government has classified the attack as “workplace violence,” which denies Munley and the other victims their proper benefits and military awards. The victims are suing to change the attack’s designation and access their due benefits. The Obama government is downplaying Hassan’s attack so that it can claim that there have been no terrorist attacks on US soil during Obama’s presidency. In reality, there have been several, with Ft. Hood the deadliest.
Barack Obama continues to mistreat the heroes and victims of the Ft.Hood terrorist massacre. That’s our president. That’s who is going to stand up, wrap himself in the majesty of the state tonight, and lecture us on what’s right and wrong.
