This is not a repeat of the time NBC editors made George Zimmerman sound like a racist. Wait, yeah, it is a repeat of that. And of the time Andrea Mitchell’s unwatchable hash of a show aired a tape deceptively edited to smear Mitt Romney.
NBC has a history of creating and airing lies, don’t they.
So, according to Jim Treacher, they’re “reviewing” this one. It’s the tape that NBC doctored to make it look like the father of one of the Newtown victims was heckled. He wasn’t. NBC’s lie has been duly spread around by the leftist blogs and media, who as a group don’t care about the truth. You can’t find an honest person among them.
NBC is probably reviewing how they can tighten things up so they’ll get away with it next time.

If any lefties want to pay attention here for a moment you might learn something.
NBC has the same rights under the First Amendment that all Americans enjoy. They have the right to have opinions and the right to express them. In the last year they have egregiously abused those rights on several high-profile occasions (and God only knows how many smaller lies we didn’t catch them in). And these aren’t inconsequential abuses, either. In lying to make a racist out of George Zimmerman they endangered his life and his freedom, as well as running the risk of starting riots. In the Romney bit they used lies to sway a national election with grave consequences, and now in this case they’re using lies to deprive citizens of their rights.
Please note how the Right has reacted to these things. We aren’t calling for an abolition of TV news broadcasts. We aren’t demanding governmental oversight of the editing process. We’re not saying journalists should have to be licensed before they can speak or be forced to confess their sins to a priest. And the reason we’re not doing those things is because we recognize that for every despicable liar like the ones at NBC there are untold thousands of decent Americans using their First Amendment in a constructive, responsible way.
So instead we’re calling out an individual bad actor for its individual misconduct. We recognize the utter stupidity of sacrificing the rights of everyone because of the crimes of the few. That’s how it’s supposed to work in a free nation, you might want to try it sometime.
And the moral high ground and 2 bucks gets us a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
You must have missed the memo. When a conservative criticizes media malpractice, that’s censorship.
And when a conservative answers a question that’s been put to him twice, it’s “heckling.”
And the other memo that says government intevention is best way to solve all your problems.
Libel and slander are not Constitutionally protected speech.
Precisely. Nor should they be.
And then there was the time they edited the black out of a lawfully armed man so they could call him a racist.
Truth is problematic for liberals…
And don’t forget when Dateline NBC rigged a truck with explosives so it would detonate on cue for a story about allegedly defective fuel tanks.
And don’t forget about how they showed up at a NASCAR race with hidden cameras and actors dressed up in traditional Arab garb to get footage of all those NASCAR-loving rednecks treating the actors badly (which didn’t happen).
I do not like boycotts but NBC and MSNBC news needs to be boycotted.
I don’t know how to get a list of their advertisers short of having to watch their programs and note each commercial. (Tried a quick Google search but didn’t find anything useful)
Their ratings need to go into negative numbers. They need to lose lots of money. And they need to know why.
Because they are corrupt and incompetent.
They manipulate and twist information to enhance their beliefs
And what they don’t deliberately manipulate they get wrong from laziness and stupidity.
Hurt them. They deserve it.
It’s not a boycott when you decide not to waste your time watching the stupid lies of stupid people. They are selling a product, and it’s not worth buying.
We all have to spend our time and money wisely.
Such as by avoiding media companies and personalities who fund the anti-gun lobby.
Mr. Felix:
Excellent. Bravo. Thanks.
Dang! I may have to start watching them just so I can later say I’m boycotting them. As it is, I forget they are even available for viewing since I wrote them off as an honest broker years ago. I assume the still have a full slate of programming but couldn’t name one show on the network other than those that are older than I am. Indifference is death to a medium that thrives on attention.
NBC has licensing from the public airwaves.
They no longer qualify for their license, just as a three strikes felon could not get a license to own a gun.
Strip them of their license.
Absolutely.
When conservatives say “We no longer trust the liberal media” this is what we mean by it, and why we no longer trust the news.
When conservatives say “The vast majority of liberals are ignorant hypocrites” the fact that the vast majority of liberals will spread this completely debunked lie to their friends (or the completely fabricated lie about Obama’s skeet shooting) while bleating about “birthers” is why we regard you as ingenuous liars at best, and at worst, deluded and dangerous lunatics.
There are liberals who will go to their grave thinking that “the NRA heckled a grieving father”. It fits your narrative, what you so badly want to believe. It easily absolves you of responsibility for your petty, imbecilic worldview drawn in crayon, that guns are “evil” and people are tools, when any thinking person knows the opposite is true.
There are very awful people in this world, and to refuse to acknowledge their existence is the first step towards obliteration. I choose to defend my family and myself from them instead.
To the rest of you, grow up. Life is harsh.
