President Obama will unveil his immigration reform proposals today. They are about as bad they can be, from a rule of law and border security point of view.
Like the senators’ plan, Obama’s proposal calls for a pathway to citizenship for many of the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. The senators’ plan would grant “probationary legal status” immediately to eligible undocumented immigrants, but would not allow them to apply for permanent legal status, or a green card, until the border is deemed to be secure. Think of that as a trigger system.
On the other hand, Obama’s framework would not contain a border security measure. Administration officials told media outlets that they believe a path to citizenship needs to be straightforward. They also believe a trigger system, like the one in the senate plan, could lead to a state of legal limbo for the undocumented immigrants who receive legal status, The Washington Post reported.
Obama is not proposing legislation, but the gruel he is offering is designed to pull the debate to the left and weaken the already weak push for real security on the border. The president is putting his cards on the table to undermine American sovereignty. In due time, he’ll pull the rug out from under Sen. Marco Rubio and the Republicans involved in the Gang of Eight, and they can be expected to play the fool.
And they will. Rubio is already earning strange new respect from the media for “evolving” on amnesty. He’ll get to John McCain territory soon enough, believing that the media really really love him, when they’re just using him as a weapon against other Republicans. Watch how much they love him when he decides he wants to be president.
The people who lose in all this, if any of these amnesty plans are passed, are the American citizens who work for a living and find their paychecks shrinking and jobs becoming more scarce. But then again, a majority re-elected a man who obviously does not have their best interests at heart.
Obama is effectively an enemy of the state. He’d declare the entirety of the Third World to be American citizens if he could. Obama has no like for America or its history, quite the contrary.
His moves are no surprise to me; he would dismantle every single aspect of America inherited from the past – all of it injures his sensibilities and sense of justice. That is because he predictably over-identifies with black folks and the supposed injustices done them over centuries.
Think of Michael Eric Dyson or Melissa Harris-Perry as President, cuz that’s what you’ve got. Obama isn’t just incompetent, he is a disaster, as the Dem Party has come to be. When exactly did the Dem Party match its world view point for point with the political black Left?
These people have a faith in history’s failures I do not share. Last place teams are last place teams for a reason. All the self-pity, excuses and blame in the world won’t explain away the thin smear of modernity spread over the Rainbow Coalition and their analogues in a medieval Third World.

No, he is not incompetent. He is doing quite nicely at fulfilling his agenda.
He is, however, a disaster as you say.
Well, I hope Mr. Obama understands there will be a price. I fully expect he does, and salivates for it to be paid. He loves not the America of yore, its heritage and history, and simply wishes it away. It is to us to decide whether we allow such, or no.
What we are seeing from the Democrats and Mr. Obama is precisely the path a world government will one day take, with soft authoritarianism and corruption and cronyism and a media of uniform belief, with “social justice” ending up trumping all other forms of justice and statecraft, with none secure unless they are of the “right” mindset, and none influential if not of the right pedigree, meaning the right schools. It is to be avoided. The nations of Eastern Europe are well advised to hesitate before their next step, the United Kingdom invited to reclaim its rightful place in the world as a nation of note.
Wrong Mr. Obama. Closing the border is the key to progress with this whole issue. No pathway to citizenship without extremely secure borders. Stop your criminal activity in disregarding existing federal laws, and start enforcing them.
Obama’s doing exactly what he’s intended doing from before his presidency. He, his family, his crony-friends & their families & friends that he’s created hugely lucrative jobs for, are bent on destroying the America we’ve enjoyed & loved for her power, wealth and freedom, gone now. We’ve seen corruption and waste grow steadily in gov’t but this faux president tops them all as the vilest liar, most corrupt, willing to stoop lowest to accomplish his reward, a monarchy he doesn’t ever intend leaving. One by one, he’s tearing the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc., to shreds.
Unfortunately, for those of us who recognize his true goals, his charisma, the fact he’s black (his lying, unfulfilled rhetoric why I voted for 1st term, not skin color)& those dependent on his largesse with taxpayers’ money, blind too many to the truth. I pray the GOP gets a backbone and squashes the rampant dishonesty! I’m redy for a revolt!
It is silly to talk about immigration reform without addressing border security. There simply is no sovereignty without security. Further, open borders are incompatible with the welfare state. Legal immigrants are required to prove that they can provide for themselves and their families while maintaining a green card (as they should). If we are to provide amnesty for illegals at the bare minimum they should be held to the same standards that legal immigrants have held to. Otherwise, we insult the millions who have played by the rules in order to make this their home.
The one good thing about this is that when 12 million now legal immigrants show up as part of the labor force, with most unemployed (because hey, legally having to hire the guys means we have to give them health insurance, right?) the unemployment rate in this country will jump to 14%.
That’ll help Hillary in 2016, right?
