A holiday message from the only black U.S. senator, Tim Scott (R-S.C.):
“The strength and determination shown by Dr. King have already inspired generations of Americans, and will continue to do so for countless years to come. He instilled in us the knowledge that if you stay true to your beliefs and convictions, you can truly change the world.
Now, as a nation, we stand at a crossroads. Like Dr. King, we know the challenges ahead of us, and we also stand firm in the belief that tomorrow will bring better and brighter days.
In honoring Dr. King today, we remember many events, speeches and stories. What I remember above all is his courage. The courage to do the right thing in the face of opposition, to never let others tell him his dreams were impossible, to inspire. And that inspiration will help serve to lead us all forward – to the America of our dreams.”

How about the courage to admire someone other than one who shares your skin color? There must be a stereotype factory churning these people out somewhere.
Yes indeed Mr. Scott! Sixty five years of nation building around the world in the interest of spreading American style democracy and Christianity upon other nations, certainly has change the world. Just look at it today!
About fifty five years of greed and corruption expansion in the private and public sectors, certainly has changed the nation and the world. Just look at it today!
What are your beliefs Mr. Scott? Partisan politics?
The vision and speeches of MLK have been abused by nearly every special interest group around and for the most part, the same ways people abuse the scriptures their bibles.
Ehhh, screw America. Ack.
I look forward to hearing tomorrow how evil my beliefs are, and everyone giving the deliverer of that message a permanent pass because they want a nice Hollywood story about how a black nan became President. To blazes with that.
This edition of America is in need of a serious factory recall, for has some major defects, cosmetic and otherwise.
Mr. Scott is telling us no matter what color you are, stay true to your beliefs, and it will all work out. All the free enterprise people out there stay true to your principles and keep fighting the good fight and America will come back.
Never happen so long as ALL private sector special interest groups are not banned from special open door government access and unlimited political campaign funding and a reformed law making them only be equal to the same government access as any ‘common citizen’ has access AND limited to campaign funding as any common citizen is.
Yep Zeke, you are right and that my friend is not free enterprise. Milton Friedman said that the government is there to be the ref, well giving waivers to their friends is not free enterprise. We still need to fight for this cause.
Thanks! Even at my age, I will join all americans who would march on the government to free it from ALL privates sector special interest groups. They have destroyed the America and government the founders had in mind and worked so well until they showed up to take over the government.
