Let’s assume that the reports of Benghazi are true–that there were armed assets overhead, but permission to fire was denied at very high levels.
Then this reaffirms me in this belief–that in 2000, if the sailors on the USS Cole had opened fire on that approaching boat, they would have been considered guilty until conclusively proven innocent. It’s just the mindset back then, and apparently now. The Democratic politicians and their thinkers will not allow us to protect the force first and foremost, and that attitude gets filtered down. People know there will be heck to pay if they shoot, as they get denounced by the Al Sharptons.
This is why John Warner can go rot in hell as far as I’m concerned. He wants to act like the failure of the Cole was all the COs doing, but he won’t attack the real problem–liberals.
