I moved to metro Atlanta while Red Ted still owned the Braves, and refused to ever root for the team. When he was no longer majority owner but they left his name on their home field, I maintained my refusal.
If there’s ever been a reason for the team to rename that stadium, this is it.
That’s a very odd statement for someone whose mentally ill father committed suicide. Ted himself has long been diagnosed as suffering from the same bipolar disease.

At least the people around Mr. Hughes had the good taste to keep him away from public sight for the declining years of his life.
