The US Had a Drone Watching the Final Hour of the Benghazi Sacking?

Eli Lake breaks more ground on Benghazi. The latest: The FBI picked up a video of the attack when it finally got to the sacked compound and is now going through that video. It shows a military-style assault, no protest.

Additionally:

In addition to the footage from the consulate cameras, the U.S. government is also poring over video taken from an overhead U.S. surveillance drone that arrived for the final hour of the night battle at the consulate compound and nearby annex.

And:

Video from the compound’s cameras debunk the initial line from the Obama administration that there was a protest in front of the consulate on the night of the attacks, according to one of the U.S. intelligence officials who has seen the footage, and a senior Obama administration official familiar with what they show.

The videos were filmed from multiple closed-circuit cameras throughout the compound, and are at times grainy and hard to decipher. There are also some gaps. There is no footage, for example, of Ambassador Chris Stevens going into the safe room where he eventually died from smoke inhalation. The footage at the gate of the compound is taken from an angle that filmed the attackers from the side, so the people in the crowd can mostly be seen in profile.

Questions: Was the drone an armed Predator or an unarmed type such as the Global Hawk? Could it have fired Hellfire missiles into the battle? Did it?

We used armed Predators during the 2011 Libya war .Was this drone one of those?

Previously we were told that Obama had been briefed on the attack prior to going to bed on the night of 9-11-12. The whereabouts and condition of Ambassador Stevens were not yet known. Yet Obama, we were told, went to bed and only learned of Stevens’ death the following morning.

Am I the only one who finds Obama’s behavior inhuman? The State Dept. officials testified that they were able to monitor events at the consulate in real time. Now we know how that was possible — we had a drone overhead. So Obama had a live feed from a drone above the battlefield, yet he tucked himself in not even knowing how the battle would end. The commander in chief didn’t stick around to see if we won or lost or whether the missing ambassador had survived or not. Would Obama have gone to bed during a nailbiter of a sports game?

The following day, after briefly acknowledging Stevens’ death, Obama again skipped his Presidential Daily Briefing and flew off to a Vegas fundraiser. Two days later, he would allow the mother of one of the slain Americans to cry on his shoulder while he offered her no comfort and his officials lied to her about her son’s death. Two days after that, US Ambassador Susan Rice would repeatedly lie about the assault, which the administration had had the ability to watch in real time from a drone circling overhead.
