Spanish-language network Univision will unleash a pair of bombshells on the Obama administration this weekend. According to the Daily Caller, Univision’s investigative unit is about to expose more Fast and Furious violence.
“The consequences of the controversial ‘Fast and Furious’ undercover operation put in place by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in 2009 have been deadlier than what has been made public to date,” the network said. “The exclusive, in-depth investigation by Univision News’ award-winning Investigative Unit — Univision Investiga — has found that the guns that crossed the border as part of Operation Fast and Furious caused dozens of deaths inside Mexico.”
Among other groups of Fast and Furious victim stories Univision says it will tell in the special to air Sunday evening at 7 p.m., is one about how “16 young people attending a party in a residential area of Ciudad Juárez in January of 2010″ were gunned down with weapons the Obama administration gave to drug cartel criminals through Fast and Furious.
“Univision News’ Investigative Unit was also able to identify additional guns that escaped the control of ATF agents and were used in different types of crimes throughout Mexico,” the network added. “Furthermore, some of these guns — none of which were reported by congressional investigators — were put in the hands of drug traffickers in Honduras, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. A person familiar with the recent congressional hearings called Univision’s findings ‘the holy grail’ that Congress had been searching for.”
To date, Univision is one of the few television networks to aggressively cover Fast and Furious. Univision’s anchors grilled President Obama about Fast and Furious during a town hall meeting on the network earlier in September, suggesting that Attorney General Eric Holder ought to be fired over the deadly scandal. Univision’s prominence among Spanish-speakers could have a big impact. Fast and Furious victims have mostly been Mexican citizens caught up in the drug war.

More power to them.
The party of factions has limited sympathies and unlimited ideology. These deaths are the result of these tendencies.
Considering how long it took the MSM to go from calling Fast & Furious ‘alleged’ to ‘botched’ gun running program, this will of course be ignored because reporters are still in Wasilla, Alaska, or pouring over Romney’s tax returns.
Are you telling me there is a news agency out there with some balls?
Yes, the MSM will ignore this, but it will play BIG in the Hispanic community.
This has the potential to sway the Hispanic vote, perhaps significantly.
Univision described the weapons as having “escaped” US govt surveillance/control. This “escape” was in every way intentional. The word “botched” does not accurately describe Fast and Furious. It worked exactly as planned, except the part where whistleblowers exposed this evil program. Is there anything more racist than designing a program to kill hundreds of innocent Mexicans to advance the Obama administration’s opposition to gun control?
In a just world, the perpetrators of Fast and Furious would be brought to justice and punished for their crimes.
Nicely stated!
What makes this whole saga even more evil is the fact that of of obama’s cronies considered murdering people as ‘collateral damage’; got to break a few eggs to make an omelett.
Univision gave obama an opportunity to come clean and, now he really will be exposed as the biggest liar. Couldn’t be more urgent and, coming right before the election.
Let’s hope the admin doesn’t revoke their license under some bogus concoction.
Romney needs to get the hell on Univision and condemn these deaths. He also has a connection to the Mexican people since the Romney-Pratt family did live in Mexico for a certain period of time. Hell I’m sure he still has cousins that live in Mexico so he could state that he will not tolerate any fault by the United States causing deaths in Mexico, a NAFTA member.
I imagine that obama cringes every time he hears a question in spanish…
the only two issues that are at the top of list of cocerns of the demo are immigration reform and fast and furious.
the humiliation of the death of the ambassador, and the questions he was given regarding it, was throwing salt on bleeding wounds.
obama’s net gain from latinos was 3.24%(nominal) of his 7.3% margin. 9% of the electorate in 2008, providing a 67-31 split.
bush lost the demo by 44-53, 8% of the electorate, in 2004, but kerry’s net gain was .72%.
at this point, after neglecting latino voters, I imagine there is quite a bit of animus building towards the president from the demo. obama supporters among latinos are quite reasonably depressed, and those in opposition have a lot of fodder/motivation to go out and vote.
the msm, which doesn’t include latinos, will eventually look outside their onanistic circle, and start to panic. anecdotal evidence of doubts creeping into libs will manifest itself with the increased appearance of latino talking heads appearing on msnbc, for all the good it will do.
It appears they don’t have any insiders in latin media, despite carlos slim’s foray into the nyt.
double the irony in that univision is owned by a consortium which is led by an egyptian born israeli american, haim saban.
can’t wait for libs to start pointing out the bias that is occurring within the latino media market, while simultaneously ignoring what is transpiring in their own domain.
haim saban will become the new koch brothers, but without a ‘in’ with latin media, the message will fade before it even reaches the hispanic community.
on the likely hypothetical that libs start a fuller examination of ‘who owns what’, it will very likely invite right leaning backlash against comcast.
if one expects another downturn in the economy, having a ‘put’ on any cable media supplier is a winner. cable is a discretionary good. considering comcast’s presense in the south, I find it rather likely that combined forces will be working against the stock price. romeny wins, and no one cares, as no one is to blame from the ‘right’ persepctive. maybe the economy doesn’t spiral…but it seems rather unavoidable.
looking for an economic hedge against a obama reelection?
bet against comcast.
Thank you Univision. A news organization that has real journalists working for them.
Pray for justice. The complicity of the Obama administration and the Mexican government is astounding.
Ho-hum. No, not astounding. Not even slightly surprising.
Not to people who have been paying attention.
US citizens seem to be getting more news from Univision, BBC, and even Al-Jazeera. Despite the fact that US news agencies are more numerous, better paid, and here in the USA where the news is happening.
I wonder why? Oh, well, I’m sure there will be a new crop of hard-hitting journalists who will start wearing out the shoe-leather in late November this year.
one other point, about latino sentiment…
the ‘better off question’:
were they better off under bush, or obama?
hint: if illegal immigrations decline is to be taken as a sign of people voting with their feet, then it is hard to spin a happy tale for obama.
fair/unfair to attribute the credit collapse to the bush presidency, also invites the argument that the housing boom that occurred under bush helped provide work for millions of illegals, yet it also helped fuel the growth in the latino community.
of all demographics that are mostly accutely aware of construction, or more generally, growth, I tend to think that the latino community is remarkably in touch. the wh tales of economic success belie the reality of a zero growth economy and they, more than any demographic, know it.
a little outreach from romney, in any form, would go a long way.
Even if no non spanish folks see that special ALOT of Spanish speakers will and thats is the kind of thing that can silently kill the hispanic demographic for Booboo.Ha Frickin HA.
I’ll take the Mexican Mormon over the Gay Kenyan Muslim. I think some other folks, or should I call them campesinos, are planning to as well.
Another instance of a Mexican (journalist) willing to do the jobs that American (journalists) aren’t.
