War, you have read this secene totally wrong. But that is because of your ignorance. It is not the cops who were offering him up as some sacrificial lamb, they are trying to direct him to the police car, but he keeps turning away to face the crowd.
Why would he do this? Honor and Humiliation. It would be humiliating for an Iranian to run from the crowd, so to show he is an alpha male he turns away from the police and heads back into the crowd.
For the Iranian it was a moment of triumph, something he can tell his children about, proudly.
As for the Iranians yelling at him, to the Iranian politician they are scum. They are but Iranian traitors who fled the country to live in the flesh pots of the United States.

Either way, when did it become the job of police in the US to protect diplomats from their own people? Isn’t that a function of the military? And why can’t they bring their own security personnel? Where was the security for the Americans who were killed in Libya? Libyan police didn’t protect them. Remember the old adage, “Don’t judge a man until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes”? You have have no idea what these people suffered or what was done to their loved ones. I imagine their rage is born of immense pain.
Plenty of people in this world are “trying to avoid violence” but it comes to them anyway, against their will. This “violence” has been brought to our shores courtesy of our government (immigration). You won’t be able to “avoid” it much longer.
However, he isn’t turning away, seeking police protection. He continually turns toward the crowd in defiance, ignoring the directions of the police, who seem to struggle to get him to head to the safety of the waiting police car. Check the other video, shot from above that gives a better representation of his meandering. This video allows you to hear the police, but the other lets you see what’s happening.
It would be great if the sound from this could be synched to the video from the other one.
Even in the midst of all the energy of this event, the Iranian diplomat (God curse his soul), I am certain that he never felt in danger of death or serious injury. Would not be the same story in an Islamic country if he were being protested. But he’ll never appreciate that irony until he is face to face with Lucifer in the afterlife.

I’m one of the American Christians who is not fooled by what is happening now or the history of Islam. I presently reside in an Asian country that takes in Christian refugees from Pakistan. They had to flee for their lives from the “religion of peace followers.”Doctors, professors, business people. It is wretching to hear their stories. The refugees and true followers of Jesus love the G-d of Israel. Pray, pray, pray.

Those angry Iranians probably have relatives back home who’ve been treated very, very, very badly by the regime.
I did not see any of the people who were yelling at this man attacking him physically, nor threatening to do so. They expressed their anger at the regime he represents, repeatedly and doubtless annoyingly.
Well, the regime he represents is brutal, illegitimate (having kept power by a fraudulent election), a supporter of terror throughout the world including mass murder of civilians, striving for nuclear weapons, and mouthing hatred of the United States (the Great Satan) among even worse things.
Most Americans are too polite or too indifferent or too ignorant to pay attention to him.
That the Iranians who behaved this way did so, in my opinion is a good thing. Perhaps it will get him to notice what his government does not, namely that many people in the rest of the world, even Iranians, sincerely hate his regime and everything about it, because of its behavior.
The regime does not realize how close it is going to being utterly destroyed along with many of its innocent citizens. These people do, and are angry at the danger the regime is inflicting on its country, much like the danger Hitler imposed on Germany.More power to them.

I wish they’d do the sensible thing and get the UN out of the US. They could buy a luxury cruise ship and put it in International waters, patrolled by the US if necessary and conduct all the business they ever needed to from there. Price wise, I’m sure we’d come out way ahead of the game. That way the scum of the earth (literally, to quote Joe Biden) wouldn’t be able to take the opportunity to walk out the front door and pollute the streets of NYC. I’m not a lawyer but I suspect that if the UN was actually aboard a ship at sea in international waters, the people on it would have the equivalent of diplomatic immunity. I seem to recall a 60 Minutes piece that said cruise ship passengers who’d been raped by crews in international waters couldn’t be prosecuted because no one had jurisdiction. I may be misremembering that or missing some nuances but it would certainly bear investigation. Otherwise, what would stop diplomats on the imagined UN ship from attacking, raping and even killing one another?

I agree. It sickens me that my tax dollars are supporting a spineless and corrupt UN. I’d like to see them relocated to London, or some EU city, and see how long it takes them to self-destruct without the backing of US finances and security. I’m with cb’s comment – it’s the US and we protect diplomats, even those who represent regimes that are despicable and suppress their people. The lesson, we’re civilized, they’re not.

That confrontation was partially satisfying,a good start. Throw out the UN period give em nothing.
Looks like war is set to begin anytime. Now look for Joint talks with Europes Leaders in the EU, and USA, and Israel, along with our Allies in the Middle East to start in the next couple of weeks. Notice when this happens the press will spin the meetings as last ditch efforts to thawrt war. However in true reality they will be discussing in “Closed Door Sessions” exactly what will transpire and when as to allow all interests and concerns from the Allies to be brought forth and discussed. Once the palms have been greased the stage is set for the real showdown. Iran of course will drum up more trouble in places like Syria in order to throw the dogs off the scent of War. Look for more aggressive attacks in the coming weeks in Africa, Indonisia. The real squirmish will start in Syria, First- then spread to Iran. You may even see Hezbola start border squirmishes with Israel. But by this end of October if you see this, then my friends you will see war. While we are strong in the USA, and our Allies plentyful, be prepared to see heavy casuelties at the beginning. But head this thought….War is good for the economy, bad for the players!
