Huffington Post on the impending catastrophe:
In a recent press release, the U.K.’s National Pig Association is warning that a “world shortage of pork and bacon next year is now unavoidable“: ”New data shows the European Union pig herd is declining at a significant rate, and this is a trend that is being mirrored around the world. Pig farmers have been plunged into loss by high pig-feed costs, caused by the global failure of maize and soya harvests. All main European pig-producing countries report shrinking sow herds.”

IT’S THE NO-PORK-ALYPSE!
Thou shalt eat kosher.
If God really didn’t want us to eat pigs, he wouldn’t have made them taste like bacon.
If G-d really didn’t want us to eat pigs, he wouldn’t have made them taste like bacon.
We can always gobble turkey bacon.
We should turn the ethanol producers into bacon. Poetic justice.
But…but…they said that corn raised for ethanol was different from feed corn and that EtOH production mandates would have no impact on food prices or availability. The horror that all the experts were wrong!
2 very important things here:
Come on down to Texas – we’ve got a feral hog problem and we’ll be glad to service the bacon needs of all Americans. It should also help bring market prices down since feral hogs don’t require an expensive feeding operation.
Alarm clocks should be made of bacon – our youngest got up early to cook breakfast before school today – no one stayed in bed much past the first wiff of bacon. Yet another net positive for increased productivity.
Isn’t that wild boar meat much tougher and stringier than their domesticated cousins?
Some of it will be low grade – which is not a problem to send it for dog food. The important thing is the available quantity getting into the food chain and the added benefit of helping us deal with an invasive predator. From personal experience, I can tell you that you’ve never had anything more succulent than the hogs that have been living off the back of our pecan orchards.
Just head to Congress and the Senate. Plenty of pork there ready for the taking – although cleaning the dross away could be rather difficult.
– the InstaPundit has gone on retreat.
I hope there will not be rioting in the streets by all the Muslim communities over this news.
