This audio is reportedly from a 1998 conference at Loyola University. The then Illinois state Senator said clearly that he believes in the redistribution of wealth.
Democrats, go ahead and explain this one. Show your work, and factor into your work the fact that Obama said nearly the same thing to Joe the Plumber in 2008.
Update 3:06 central: Romney just mentioned this video on Cavuto.

– PJM site and that’s where this important revelation will stop.
Neville Chamberlain believed in “Peace in our Time,” and look where it got him.
I’m thinking this audio will sound awesome on Facebook.
An article recently (on PJM, IIRC) pointed out that conservatives tend to give more to charity than liberals.
Two years ago, I think, the Obamas gave practically nothing to charity, per their released tax returns. This past year, the giving was relatively small. (Again, IIRC.)
Apparently Barack is fondest of sharing others’ wealth, rather than his own.
This audio clip is being investigated as to its authenticity. While we may believe that Mr. Obama believes what it says, we’ll gain more respect if we withhold attacks until after it’s verified that he actually said it.
Interesting footage – would like to hear more from this discussion. As typical, Obama discusses thing in a thoughtful manner – citing both the pitfalls and potential benefits of redistribution of wealth. Setting aside the negative connotation ‘redistribution of wealth’ invokes, one must realize all taxation, even flat tax, is a redistribution of wealth and does play a role in a civilized society. In summary in found nothing offensive or objectionable about obama’s thoughts in this clip. Quite the contrary it reaffirmed why I find Obama to be a exceptional president and statesman.
