There was a time in these United States when we called people who just slept wherever they felt like it “layabouts,” “hobos,” “bums,” or the more recent, “homeless.” Jason Mattera finds a man occupying the DNC who has coined a new term for what was once called a “freeloader” — an “illegal sleeper.”
It does sound better than “sponge.”
