Congressional Republicans will wait until Saturday morning to respond to President Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention tonight.

In the address, Obama is expected to blame Republican obstructionism for stalling programs that he intended to aid economic recovery. He’ll likely shape — and sharpen — these criticisms to gird against Friday morning’s release of the latest unemployment numbers.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) has been chosen to give the Republican response both to Obama’s weekly address and his DNC speech.

It will be released early Saturday morning after the president’s weekly message.
