Official Obama campaign surrogate, Virginia state Sen. Louise Lucas says let’s be real clear, Mitt Romney is only taking to racists. She made the comments this morning on the John Fredericks Morning Show.
SENATOR LUCAS: What I am saying to you is Mitt Romney, he’s speaking to a segment of the population, who does not like to see people other than a White man in a White House or any other elected position.
Let’s be real clear about it… let’s be real clear Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don’t like folks like Barack Obama in any elected or leadership position. We know what’s going on here and some people may be afraid to say it but I am not. I am not afraid to say it.
He’s speaking to that fringe out there who do not want to see anybody other than a white person in a leadership position. Senator Miller said it before she died and I agreed with her. They don’t want President Barack Obama in office as President and for all the reasons that you and I and alot of other people understand.
HOST: Do you really believe now that this all about race?
LUCAS: I absolutely believe it’s all about race and for the first time I’ve convinced my children finally that racism is alive and well.
HOST: Even in Virginia?
LUCAS: In Virginia how about all across this nation. And especially in Virginia!
Lucas also, predictably, played the Bush card. Nothing is the fault of the man who ran for and won the job, has occupied it for going on four years, and wants the job for four more years.
To the extent that either candidate’s appeal can be fairly characterized as racist, it has to be Obama’s. His campaign has “African Americans for Obama” and “Hispanics for Obama,” and Obama was certainly speaking to a segment of the population when he goaded Hispanic voters to “punish their enemies,” meaning people who oppose amnesty for illegal aliens. Obama’s attorney general made a racist statement in congressional testimony when he referred to “my people.” Additionally, Obama can expect to count on about 95% of the black vote despite the fact that black unemployment far outpaces the rest of the nation.

It’s sad that black America thinks it is so entitled to automatic respect that failure to defer to its leadership is grounds for the charge of racism.
I want to revise and extend my remarks a little, because it actually is a problem for our times–it is my observation that there appears to be, in black America, vocal and perhaps influential portions who in fact would seem to believe–subconsciously at the least–that because of past injustices done to ancestors, that they are entitled to automatic deference, and failure to yield to whatever leadership they care to offer is automatic proof of racism on the part of the reluctant.
That in other words, in defiance of every accepted principle of ethics and leadership, that *if* the person in a position of authority is from a certain group–their group–that respect and trust must be given, and not earned.
I seem to recall that the Cathoilc church settles for just the Pope being considered infallible, but, apparently now, in this country the new American man has to grant that right that to entire favored groups. The new American way these days, I guess..
BHO isn’t even an African-American, fercryinoutloud. His Muslim ancestors were busy enslaving other African blacks, and for all we know, some of his distant relatives may still be doing that.
I don’t want Commies, Muslims, liars, fraudsters, and eco-freaks (though I repeat myself) in political office at any level.
*facepalm*
Yeah, Louise Lucas has polluted Virginia’s body politic for years: a vile, race-baiting Sheila Jackson Lee wannabe. Sadly, nothing new here.
If Maxine Waters or Sheila Jackson Lee ever wish to relinquish their posts as the most demagogic, synapically-challenged legislators in the nation, Louise Lucas is unequivocally prepared to fill that position. You go girl!
“LUCAS: I absolutely believe it’s all about race and for the first time I’ve convinced my children finally that racism is alive and well.”
Finally convinced? What did she do, dress up in white sheets and burn a cross on their front lawn? How old are her kids and how long has she been preaching her hatred until she finally convinced them? Did she have them locked away in her basement so that they couldn’t see for themselves before now?
“Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don’t like folks like Barack Obama in any elected or leadership position.”
I feel the same way about Elizabeth Warren, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi — maybe I’m multiply racist….disfavoring half-black progressives, faux Cherokee progressives, Mormon progressives, and progressives of Italian descent.
….or maybe there’s some other, hidden, link….
I’m wondering if, rather than just an insulting little person spouting off some rambling race-bait, this is an indication of just how scared the Obama campaign is now running? After all, if they need to trot out the “All whites who listen to Romney are racist” canard, how confident can they be of their own demographics? Just what are their internal polls telling them about how hard (or soft) is the black vote this year?
“Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don’t like folks like Barack Obama in any elected or leadership position.”
If she’s talking about “racist never held a real job community organizer socialists”, she’s right, I wouldn’t like him in any elected position. The man and his minions are destroying America.
Louise Lucas is unfit to serve in any office, state or federal.
Children do indeed have to be taught about color..my young son, years ago, when asked to describe his teacher,so I could find her in the meeting place; stated she wore large gold earrings..imagine my suprise, she was black, a fact he never thought to mention..
Obama was born in Hawaii, and he’s black.
Believe as much of that as you like, but in any case it’s his entire resume.
Except for the way he’s now touting all the brilliant successes he’s had in office the last three years.
OMG.
I wonder where John Boehner fits into the scheme of things. He’s orange.
Senator Lucas can kiss my ass.
