America is in the midst of a great transition and all that is great and good about her can be lost. We do not have to lose.
We are losing.
It is imperative for folks to realize that the GOP is just a stopgap to momentarily hold the line. When it does not do so because of craven cowardness, it makes the overall job that much harder. For we are engaged in a battle to determine whether America will remain essentially as it was, just with the skin color of successful Americans varying; or whether or not it will descend into some Kafkaesque Balkanized “Chavez Venezuela” hell, where skin color trumps all (esp over white), everything is touched by a government that rules with an iron will both arbitrary and capricious, the culture is adolescent, juvenile, and shallow, where the small must cower before the great as in a mob-run town,, and the heritage of the West is discarded merely because it is from unfashionable demographics, to be replaced by Madonna.
We are at a great inflection point in world history. The momentary year to year electoral needs of the GOP pale before the needs of this change. We do not have to lose. We are losing. Victory in this change will not come from the GOP–it will have to come from outside. But defeat can come from the GOP, if it does not stand firm and, like Britain surrendering to the Nazis in 1940, or the Pusan Perimeter collapsing in 1950, make it that much harder for the succesful reattack from outside by eliminating a base which to both hold the enemy in place and eliminating a base to marshall forces from.
America as it was when I was a boy is going to die, for demographics are changing (partially very much illegitimately, due to illegal immigration, a dispossession of the current inhabitants that makes a mock of any complaints about America’s continental expansion) But the spirit of America need not die.
Right now it is predeceasing the patient. We must stand our ground and hope Providence provides.
