Bathtub Boy Keith Olbermann Sues Al Gore's Current TV

Keith Olbermann threatened a lawsuit when the poorly watched network fired him last week, and has made good on the threat:

The $10 million chandelier is about to smash into the ballroom.

Keith Olbermann, who was swiftly fired from Current TV last week after less than a year since bringing his signature Countdown show to the Al Gore-founded cable network, vowed to take legal action.

And E! News has exclusively learned from his attorney, Patricia Glaser, that he’ll be filing suit against his former bosses today.

KO’s lawyer has some experience going after a network involved in a high profile spat with on-air talent.

Glaser, his attorney, represented Conan O’Brien when the successful Late Night host-turned-unsuccessful Tonight Showhost was fired by NBC. O’Brien ended up with a $45 million settlement for himself and his staff.

I can’t say that I really care whether Al Gore or Keith Olbermann are right or which one ultimately prevails. When those two are fighting each other, the rest of humanity wins.

Time-Warner cable customers may win twice by the time all of this is said and done: Current TV’s audience is so pitifully small that it may get dropped from TWC entirely.
