The Hispanic man is George Zimmerman. Until today he attended Seminole State College. The college has kicked Zimmerman out, issuing this statement as to why:
“Due to the highly charged and high-profile controversy involving this student, Seminole State has taken the unusual but necessary step this week to withdraw Mr. Zimmerman from enrollment. This decision is based solely on our responsibility to provide for the safety of our students on campus as well as for Mr. Zimmerman.”
The college gives two reasons: Notoriety, and safety — of the other students as well as Zimmerman. Why would the other students be in any jeopardy? Because the Black Panthers issued a bounty for Zimmerman over the weekend, and are attempting to form a massive lynch mob to hunt him down and grab him “dead or alive.” Because Louis Farrakhan and Spike Lee have joined in the mob mentality, tweeting threats and personal information regarding Zimmerman. And because the president and attorney general have done nothing to calm the situation down.
The Black Panthers’ terroristic threats and actions, followed with silence from the Obama regime, have made the campus unsafe.
The sycophantic adulation of Ta Nehisi Coates at The Atlantic described Obama’s statement as “pitch perfect”.
So colleges can kick out women who are being stalked out of concern that the stalker may shoot up campus?

No, no, women and minorities are a protected class, like spotted owls. Zimmerman is just a white male. Oh, wait, he is hispanic; Well, some pigs are more equal than others. Not unusual for dictatorships.

The correct response, of course, is to kick out anyone the college thinks will instigate violence — namely the people likely to obey the black panthers — rather than those who might be the victims of violence.
Shall I explain why? By leaving the violent students in place, ready to promote violence against other targets and more likely to do so since it has already given them what they want once, the same problem is likely to happen again and again.
Eventually it will occur to even to even the dumbest black panther leader that directly threatening teachers and the college administrators will put them on easy street, with fully subsidized tuition and living expenses as well as straight unearned A plus grades.
Seminole State college sounds like it’s run by fools — cowardly fools.
I do not care what the color, gender, or cause- if an institution kicks out a student b/c of threats made by any one individual or group, that institution is pandering to bullying at best, and terrorism (defined a using harm to property or person to advance a political or social agenda) at worst.
This is not our country’s finest hour.

I hope F.I.R.E gets all over this. Colleges and universities are known for trampling the rights of the accused on campus and this just ratchets it up another clip. They are the most spineless quislings when it comes to defending freedom against interest groups that you can find.
I think the governor should send the National Guard to force the re-integration of the campus. Don’t let the racists bring segregation back!

Gee, offering bounties for kidnapping someone dead or alive is illegal in California. I believe it’s a felony, at least the additional conspiracy charge is. I bet other states have similar laws prohibiting such extra-legal vigilante acts. I’m sure the relevant Attorney Generals’ Offices will jump on the Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam and enforce the relevant laws post haste. We’re all equal before the law after all.

Some people think you are a great man. I frankly am not one of them. But I am going to point out that one of your predecessors, John Adams, defended the British soldiers who shot Bostonians during the Boston Massacre, because he did not want it thought that American justice was that of the mob mentality, but instead was governed by the rule of law.
I do not know of the guilt or innocence of George Zimmerman, but I was wondering if you, in between wondering if this incident could have happened to your son, and wondering what you were going to tell your daughters, and all the other stuff that just so happens to help you with your base–I was wondering if you had it in you to do anything remotely like John Adams did so as to allow this situation to be handled via normal channels, which are in fact adequate to the task. This includes no charges being issued if considered appropriate. I personally don’t think you have it in you to do so, but I was wondering anyway, and so I ask. The rule of law seems to hang in the balance in this case. What will you do, sir? What will you do?
If Obama had had any sort of political smarts, he would have used his election as an opportunity to purge the civil rights establishment of all its criminals and corrupt hangers-on. He could, for example, have started by bringing racketeering charges against Jesse Jackson for the way he threatening Chicago corporations with discrimination complaints unless they contributed to PUSH.
