From the AP:
An agitated Rick Santorum on Sunday called Mitt Romney “the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama” even as it appears the former Massachusetts governor is on pace to clinch the party’s nomination in June.
Santorum later lashed out at reporters, using a profane word as he accused them of “distorting” his speech.
Santorum told voters that Romney is “uniquely disqualified” to be the GOP’s presidential pick and urged his supporters to stand with him even as he faces an increasingly improbable pathway to the nomination. Santorum said “the race isn’t over until the people of Wisconsin sing,” and urged them to give his underfunded, underdog campaign a chance to derail Romney.
“Pick any other Republican in the country. He is the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama,” Santorum said at an evening rally near Racine.
Back in 2008, things were a little different.

Little Ricky should have made a noise like a hoop and rolled away long ago.
I don’t give a damn what “baggage” people claim Gingrich has. He could have a string of Conestoga wagons filled with steamer trunks and still not be as much of a jerk as Rick Santorum.
Still, if he so much as keeps Romney from getting to 1144, he’ll have done us a great favor.
dear tatler,
take your mittens and shove it where the sun don’t shine. good day.
Well newrouter,
You sure told them. Now put your big boy pants on, if you have some, and go back to the Democratic Party where you belong.
stuff a newt there with the mittens
Do you really think your snit helps Rick? I don’t like Mitt, but at least he’s acting like an adult. Rick here is acting childish, and so are you. Meanwhile, we’ve got a president who seems willing to sell us out to the Russians. . .
So, would this be Ricky taking of his gloves … or shaking off his Mittens?
dear tatler,
you are a dishonest hack
“I was talking about Obamacare, and he is the worst because he was the author of Romneycare.”
Pressed by a reporter from The New York Times, Santorum said: “Quit distorting my words. It’s bulls—.”
hey but baracky puts “bfd” on his tee shirts. no effin’ outrage there?
Is this what it means to “double down?”
Raspberry.
ENOUGH ALREADY SEN. SANTORUM , ENOUGH IS ENOUGH …NOW GO FIND YOURSELF SOME HONEST WORK FOR A CHANGE !!!
mittbots
romneycare, romneycare, romneycare
Don’t care, don’t care, don’t care
Im beginning to understand exactly why his home state voted him out of office.
Little Ricky is mad. Go home, triple lock your door. The world out there is full of big bad Romneys who will swallow you whole and spit out your bones.
if we dont stop arguing their will be someone worse in the white house for another 4 years. he is still better then having another 4 years of you know who
Is Santorum coming unhinged? Perhaps he should seek some anger management classes. His tone and rhetoric is showing signs of distress.
This is why we have the primaries, so we can find out who’s going to flip out and who’s going to keep an even keel under pressure. Newt flipped, Santorum’s flipping. I have doubts about Mitt but the worst he’s done in the campaign is to made a few dumbo comments that get blown out of proportion by our friends in the liberal media.
Vote out Obama and vote in every Tea Party type & conservative you can find, then keep a very large boot ready to keep Mitt in the ass with whenever he strays the only viable course we have, which is repeal Obamacare, cut spending, cut government, and fire everyone Obama hired.
Mitt does the nasty stuff in his ads. To the Press, he is nice and sweet.
Yeah, Santorum is angry, because he can see how ridiculous it is. He feels powerless in some ways. He knows if he had the money and organization Romney does, he would wipe the floor with him. He knows Obama will have that money and organization. So, he can see this going south in McCain-esque fashion. It has to be extremely frustrating for him.
I get it. I say the same things about Romney. Most PJM writers thus have me on their block lists. There is a huge amount of support for Romney among the writers, even if less so among the readers.
He only feels powerless because he wasn’t won enough votes. If he had twice as many delegates locked as Romney does he’d be roaring like the lion of Babylon.
Well PJM, Mark Levin and all mainline Repubs still love Santorum more than the HATED Ron Paul, even though Paul has been viciously smeared and lied about, condescended to and ignored far more than Santorum. The man has more dignity in his fingernails than Santorum has in his whole body.
But ho hum, another day in you get what you pay for PJMers.
The truth of Ron Paul and his neo-Confederate, white power friends is bad enough any lies are superfluous. The man is an asshat, and that’s before you get to how his foreign policy “goals” will get us invaded before I, for one, am likely to get into my grave.
Dignity? I guess you never heard that clip of him on the old Morton Downey Show.
But hey PJM, tell all those college kids who turned out by the thousands and vastly outnumbered the turnout for Romney/Santorum et al to get off your lawn, a shrinking, aging, knee-jerk pro-more war demographic base is the perfect basis for a governing majority. At least they couldn’t kick them out in St. Charles County and St. Louis after trying really hard to last weekend.
HA! I am just loving the way all of you Republicans, candidates included, are clawing at each other in your desperation. You can always tell when someone has no real argument, and only blind nationalism, paranoia, and the usual name-calling as your only means of persuasion. Now, go ahead and call me some terrible name, like you always do. Make it a good one, though. I’m a veteran, and you probably aren’t, and I’m sure my skin is much thicker than yours. My biggest complaint about Obama is that he didn’t just ram the health care bill he originally wanted straight down the GOP’s throat when he had the chance. Oh, and good luck with that whole Roe v. Wade thing. LMAO
How about we call you incoherent?
Romney is a loser for the GOP. Sorry fellas. Ron Paul gets the indies going and most of the rest of the old line saps in the GOP would vote for a – pineapple – over Obummer.
Not I.
Spoken as a GOP contributor and delegate to the state convention.
The big problem I have with Santorum on this issue is his blazing hypocisy. Santorum has been trying to bash Romney over a comment by his advisor (Etch-a-sketch) which Santorum has grossly taken out of context. Santorum has been trying to state that it was about policy and not about how to run a campaign (primary vs general election). Now that news organizations are taking Santorum’s words “out of context’ (I’ll leave it up to everyone to decide if they are or not), Santorum throws a childish tantrum. It shows to me how weak Santorum’s campaign, positions, and moral character is (FYI, hypocrisy is very bad in Christianity).
Tantrums and toys, that is Santorum. Also pride and gloating when he thinks he has “won” something. Do you really want the leader of the greatest nation in the world behaving that way? Including using profanity in public, as a right wing christian? He does not seem emotionally stable enough to me for the heavy responsibilities and decisions expected of the office. I would think it is a hands down for Mitt. Come on people, a man of character, knowledge and experience in problem solving, business sense and understands the ecomnomy. Gracious and kind too. Successful and genuine. This country needs Mitt Romney.
This country needs Mitt Romney…
…like it needs another 4 years of the current jackass-in-chief.
Governors beat senators in presidential elections. The POTUS is still behaving like a senator (spoiled child) and so is Rick Santorum.
Uh oh – did Santorum have a Howard Dean moment.
