America is in need of a turnaround.
Perhaps more to the point, the Republican Party is in need of a turnaround. Desperately.
No, I am not speaking about Mitt Romney today. During this primary had I hired Romney (or any of the other Sisyphean rock pushers to date), I would have fired him for gross incompetence at the task of turnaround management of the Republican Party and for lack of building the proper plan for the turnaround of America.
“It must be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to
plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage
than the creation of a new system. For the initiator has the enmity
of all who would profit by the preservation of the old institutions
and merely lukewarm defenders in those who would gain by the
new ones. The hesitation of the latter arises in part from the fear
of their adversaries, who have the laws on their side, and in part
from the general skepticism of mankind which does not really
believe in an innovation until experience proves its value. ““There is no surer sign of decay in a country than to see the rites of religion held in contempt”
“Now, in a well-ordered republic, it should never be necessary to resort to extra-constitutional measures”
(Niccolo Machiaveli)
I quote the three items above because I believe that both Breitbart and Machiavelli are misunderstood. For both, “the ends justify the means” is taken out of context.
Machiavelli and Breitbart were turnaround specialists. The ignorant would cheapen what they did and more particularly, would demean specific tactics used or the poorly understood “philosophy” behind the turnaround attempt.
As we watch the diminution of religion and the constitution by the Fabian in the White House and his cabal of small c communists in his administration, the propaganda machine, Hollywood and academia, we should heed the words of Machiavelli and take stock of the actions of Breitbart.
It is not merely that the ends justify the means, it is that salvation justifies truth. The lukewarm defenders of our sacred honor pose the larger of the two issues we confront.
A new system that cherishes truth, honor and in support of them, a new “system” that contains the courage to overcome the intentional destruction of liberty will not come via lukewarm defenders.
We need not fear the heat of battle against those who mean to destroy us, but the tepid waters of those on “our side” who bathe in hesitation, naysaying, and appeasement to the enemies of freedom.
We must learn this lesson by August. Or learn to live with the consequences.
We need a turnaround. Machiavelli and Breitbart were misunderstood. Let us not be.

Nothing can stand before the truth, ever, and the truth always wins, in the end.
The trouble with the truth is that it is a sharp two edged sword and it will cut both the wielder of the truth and the holder of the lie. That’s the problem with today’s Republican Party. The conservative party has been toying with the lies of big progressive government for a long time. Now when they “see the light” and pick up the sword of truth they end up slaughtering themselves.
The reason Obama and the left have been so successful in their war on America is that they always lie. (There are entire websites dedicated to documenting Obama lies) Even if that lie is a sandwich with some truth in it, it’s still a lie. Rat poison is something like 99% wheat the rest poison, so a little truth or even a lot mixed with a lie is still a lie. When caught in lies the expert liars just tell a bigger whopper. So in the end they are pure ideological liars.
So if the Republicans now want to wield the sword of truth effectively and defeat the lies of the left they must first confess their sins of the big government politically correct past and turn away from them, not just in word but in deed. Then perhaps they will effective wage war with the sword of truth without slaughtering themselves first. This doesn’t mean that only the pure can speak the truth but what it does mean is that the speakers must be honest about themselves, their past and their future.
The hope of the future is the light of the truth. Today the truth is revealing the darkness of the past. Let us all confess our ignorance and move on into the light.
What you call “lie” is “faith” to them. It doesn’t matter if socialist utopia never comes. It’s striving for the ideal that matters. And the good feelings it produces.
I agree that the Truth will always prevail. However, I know that it is the Right that always lies. Look up anything they say. Romney, Santorum, Gingrich – all.
I know that our Nation was founded on a belief that Religion and Government should be separate, that no government should tell it’s citizens what religion to practice or force them to practice any. Thomas Jefferson said, “It does me no harm if my neighbor says there are twenty gods or no god at all. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.”
The Religious Reich has been attacking that foundation since just after our Founding. It took them 60 years to get “In God We Trust” put on money, they inserted “Under God” into the pledge 60 years after it was written. They have usurped our original motto of “E Pluribus Unum” – Out of Many, One.
Facts, Truth, Justice and Liberty are all very much NOT on the side of the GOP and have not been for quite some time now.
– wanted to thank you for those quotes, cf.
Quoting Machiavelli! Really nice, cf!
“The Prince” and other by Machiavelli are available on Amazon and other sites as a free E-book.
Some other concepts in “The Prince” is that it is better to have an armed populace. Another that the white shirt communists don’t get, is that a man may hate but put up with a Prince who kills his father, but he get’s really pissed when the Prince steals his inheritance from his father. It has been my observation that the size of the inheritance doesn’t matter in the amount of hate the theft of it generates. Obama’s constant campaign and bringing the focus of all on him also is taking the focus of anger away from agencies that steal from the populace toward himself. It gets harder and harder to blame Bush and/or anyone else.
Sorry, the “truth” will not always prevail. Lots of liars throughout history have achieved precisely what they sought via lies and were never themselves held accountable for their actions. Dry historical corrections long after the victims are dust doesn’t vindicate anything.
The battle with the left is in the here and now, and victory or defeat will be in the here and now.
