Looks like Gingrich is turning up the heat on Romney:
Gingrich, who appeared with his wife, Callista, spent much of his 30-minute speech deriding Romney, painting the former Massachusetts governor as too moderate for the Republican party. “It isn’t good enough for the Republican Party to nominate ‘Obama-lite.’ I don’t believe the Republican party wants a George Soros-approved candidate,” Gingrich said, referring to a new ad he released Friday that highlights a recent interview in which Soros said he would be comfortable with a Romney presidency.
And Gingrich lobbed some new attacks, labeling Romney a “little food stamp” supporter (in the mold of “big food stamp” president Barack Obama) and renaming his 15 percent flat tax proposal the “Mitt Romney flat tax” because that’s Romney’s recently revealed tax rate.
By invoking Soros, Newt seems to be trying to recreate his South Carolina victory, which many–including your humble blogger–think he won largely because he attacked the MSM, which most conservatives see as an unofficial arm of the Obama campaign. However, he’s trying to hit Mitt with it as well, by linking the former Massachusetts governor with a prominent Obama supporter.
The Nevada caucuses are today, so we’ll see whether or not these attacks gain any traction for Newt beyond those that are already supporting the former Speaker. I’m not sure they’ll move any votes, but I am human, I can be wrong from time to time.

Congratulations, CW!
The Newtonian Implosion has ruptured its shell, he no longer even appears interested in the slightest in the issues, certainly not in comparison to hurling insults at Romney.
This may whip up a little froth and foam among his rather rabid base, but it won’t gain many converts. In fact, it will turn off more people than it will turn on. Especially women.
Being obsessive and irrational was the brand damage he suffered coming into the primaries. His whole campaign staff walked out because of it. This is clearly a man on a mission, however, it is a mission of one, by one, for one.
There is quite a bit to talk to the voters about that should cause deep concern about Romney, being “George Soros approved” isn’t one of them. That’s puerile and not effective. Obama-lite is just name-calling.
It makes Gingrich appear unserious and weak.
But, it makes his rabid base happy. Frankly, I wish he would just concentrate his guns on the leftist’s propaganda machine, the leftist’s attempted overthrow of the country, the leftist’s small c communism…and leave the childish stuff behind.
But, there’s no advising this guy. He has nothing but yes-men surrounding him, terrified to give him any wisdom, ratchet back his attacks on the free market, tone down and smooth out his distinctions between his candidacy and that of Romney…or even Santorum.
I saw Santorum say that the Romney campaign and the Paul campaign called when his daughter took ill. He got no call from Gingrich. Perhaps that was an oversight and simply disorganization.
But, whichever is the answer, it is just as telling.
Gingrich is going down again in the polls. For the third time. That’s usually it for a drowning man. And this is a campaign that is drowning in its own bile.
Romney’s also in with the Bilderburgers. And he’s a 33rd-degree Mason. Plus, he changed his name from “Romstein”.
