Congressional Democrats: Fast & Furious is Arizona’s Fault!
The new Fast & Furious meme:
Democrats investigating the failed gun-running probe known as “Operation Fast and Furious” are laying the blame at the feet of officials in Arizona, saying in a new report that lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have “obtained no evidence” implicating high-level political appointees in Washington.
This is curious. Evidence surfaced this week showing that AG Holder’s office knew immediately when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered by a F&F firearm.
Congressman Elijah Cummings, point man on this new propaganda, is a longtime Maryland gun control proponent and Brady Campaign endorsee.
Speaking of Brady Campaign, let’s not forget that, before F&F exploded in their faces, President Obama promised Brady he was working on their gun control agenda “under the radar,” and that AG Holder wanted to reinstate the Clinton gun ban allegedly to help Mexico soon after Obama took office.
Then Fast & Furious began.

Democrats lie. That’s what they do. Nothing a Democrat/Liberal says can be accepted as true unless and until it is corroborated by other (non-D/L) sources.
F&F was NOT a gun-running operation; it was a gun PLANTING operation. The Junta is relying on the public’s ignorance of guns to hide what they were doing. Most of the weapons they were showing as F&F guns are US-legal “sporting purpose” semi-automatic weapons based on the Soviet AK platform and made in Russia, throughout the former Soviet bloc, China, the Middle East, and now Latin America. You can buy AK platform military full automatic weapons by the case all over the Third World for as little as US$100 each. You can buy stolen/pilferred US AR platform military weapons for little more. The World is awash in ammunition for either platform, though I don’t know how easy 7.62 or 5.56 ammo is to get legally in MX, but the people who’d be using such weapons aren’t usually bothered by legal nicety.
You can own either platform in the US in fully automatic but you have to have a background check and buy a fairly expensive license to purchase and possess a very expensive weapon. You also have to accept that if you have such a license and weapon, you’re likely to have a close, personal relationship with the BATFE. Any full auto weapon you see in the hands of bad guys in the US was almost certainly stolen. In most states, anybody over 18 and not a felon or adjudged mentally incompetent can possess a US legal, semi-automatic, “sporting purpose” version of these weapons and many do, but they are expensive. A US legal AK or AR will cost you anywhere from $500 to $1500 or more, depending on the quality of the construction/conversion and the fitment of the weapon. Now, sane people must ask themselves whey Mexican bad guys would buy the inferior and expensive semi-automatic weapon in an illegal transaction under the watchful eyes of US law enforcement when they can just have a few cases of full military automatic weapons thrown in with the next shipment of heroin or cocaine for $100 a piece. I think what offends me most about the Obama Junta is that they think we’re stupid enough to believe them.
Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Firearm_Owners_Protection_Act
Hughes Amendment included in final bill, prohibiting owning auto firearm not registered as of May 19, 1986.
Criminals get to go shopping in Mideast for new autos at $100 per. Law-abiding Americans must track down collectable auto and pay 5 figures, after stamp tax and extra background check.
I think you missed the part where the entire scandal is about these implausible weapons for cartel killers to be using were discovered to be the murder weapons used in cartel killings.
The twist at the end of your conspiracy movie seems to be that someone planted these weapons to frame….. themselves!
Great stuff.
Eric Holder belongs in jail as an accessory to murder. You do not let so many violent criminals gain access to weapons without the expectation that those weapons will be used to kill people.
What I don’t understand about F&F is why the guns could not be tracked.
NYC garbage was tracked all the way to South Carolina, according to CNBC.
Nobody would kill you for watching the garbage travel…
Though it remains remotely possible that state-level ATF officials dreamed up and initiated F&F without involving Washington:
1. It’s pretty difficult to believe;
2. The evidence is now overwhelming that high-level DOJ figures, including Eric Holder, knew about F&F long before they were compelled to admit to it, and did nothing about it.
As the saying goes, it’s not the crime; it’s the coverup.
You find it hard to believe the program the Arizona ATF ran buy itself wasn’t the ATF’s idea but came from Washington? You believe this even though Obama wasn’t the first POTUS in office when they were doing this. You believe 2 different administrations forced the ATF to do ATF stuff for no apparent reason in a remarkable coincidence.
How? How is this something that you believe as opposed to something you want to believe? Really, that needs explaining. Have a go.
The similar program under Bush worked with the Mexican government and was controlled. You are conflating that with criminal enterprise enabled by the Obama administration.
But as you accused Francis, you get to believe whatever you want when posting on the internet, without doing your research first to determine if you have an argument.
So we’ve seen over a year of outrage over this because of the lack of respect and coordination the Obama-era program showed to the Mexican Govt? Really, it was that one difference?
The Bush-era program was “controlled” in way that all the guns went to Mexico. Whatever else was being “controlled”, that would be the only one that counts.
April 2009 press release on Project Gunrunner, operating since 2005 –
“The Mexican Attorney General’s office also has a representative in ATF’s Phoenix Field Division.”
So you are saying the Mexican government is lying when they claim they were kept ignorant of F&F?
This was a coordinated attempt to deprive us citizens of their second amendment rights while running illegal weapons and money laundering, that resulted in the deaths of agent Brian Terry, and hundreds of Mexicans. Now, after having been caught, despite their efforts to obscure and resist and refuse, and failure to
remember, they want to pin it on a so called rogue ATF agency in Phoenix,Ariz..
This president, and this agency need to be impeached, ans dissolved, along
with the criminal head of our Justice Dept.,Mr. Holder, and his entire agency.
No after an election, but Now!
ATF is a good southern store. And a bad government agency. Why should the government be in any of these businesses? Has it shown competence? I believe not.
“This is curious. Evidence surfaced this week showing that AG Holder’s office knew immediately when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered by a F&F firearm.”
Er… okay. This would mean he found out about it after the fact. The programs the Arizona ATF were running since the days of GW Bush. Which should tell you, if it wasn’t obvious already, that these programs aren’t dictated by Washington.
“AG Holder wanted to reinstate the Clinton gun ban allegedly to help Mexico soon after Obama took office. Then Fast & Furious began.”
As did spring.
WAPO –
“But it turns out there was another gun operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives years before, using the same tactics of allowing guns to flow illegally onto U.S. streets and into Mexico. This operation was conducted under the Bush administration’s Justice Department.
Dubbed “Operation Wide Receiver,” the case was run out of Tucson between 2006 and 2007 and involved hundreds of guns that were purchased by small-time buyers who transferred them to middle men who then passed them up the chain and into Mexico.”
Yeah, remember all those explosive email scoops showing foreknowledge of the operation which had people calling treason and impeachment? A lot of them were referring to this Bush-era operation.
Which would be meaningful if you were going to the polls this year to vote for who runs the Phoenix ATF, but you’re not. You didn’t vote him out when he ran this under Bush, so let’s dial back the OMG How Did This Happen factor when he ran it under Obama.
This is a mystery as puzzling as how come the Red Sox are playing baseball since Obama took office. That’s what they do.
That’s because Bush’s operation was run in conjunction with Mexico and followed normal law enforcement procedures. All you’ve done here is to publicly expose your own ignorance. But when promoting the Dem party line, you would have to, because an even-handed look at the facts would prove that Cummings is lying, which means that he’s trying to obfuscate the fact that Holder lies, too. Which means you are, too.
Yes, your non-specific and unreferenced assurances that the Bush-era program which walked guns into the hands of Mexican cartels was “controlled” and “followed rules” have totally shown me up as being ignorant.
To be fair, had anyone else cited the lack of coordination with Mexico in any of the 7 million posts and comments about why this is outrageous before now, I might have been less ignorant about this. But you only just just told us that joke.
Meanwhile, your main point seems to be that co-ordinating with Mexico is the significant difference between the two. Which is more than a little funny when this would be something which would suggest the knowledge or coordination of Washington in the Bush-era program, but not in the Obama-era one.
I guess it’s lucky you’ve got such a keen eye for when someone’s making themselves look foolish.
The Bush Administration’s controlled program, which followed normal law enforcement proceedures, making it totally different…..
Wiki–
“The first known ATF “gunwalking” operation to Mexican drug cartels, named Operation Wide Receiver, began in early 2006 and ran into late 2007. … With the use of surveillance equipment, ATF agents monitored additional sales by [gun store] to straw purchasers. With assurance from ATF “that Mexican officials would be conducting surveillance or interdictions when guns got to the other side of the border”,[24]
[gun store] would sell a total of about 450 guns during the operation.[22] These included AR-15s, AK-47s and Colt .38s. The vast majority of the guns were eventually lost as they moved into Mexico.[7][23][25].
At the time, under the Bush administration Department of Justice (DOJ), no arrests or indictments were made.”
“Another, smaller probe occurred in 2007 under the same ATF Phoenix field division. … The probe ultimately involved over 200 guns, a dozen of which were lost in Mexico. … The ATF informed the Mexican government when the suspects successfully crossed the border, but Mexican law enforcement were unable to track them.[4][26]”
“No charges were filed. Newell, who was [ATF Phoenix] special agent in charge from June 2006 to May 2011, would later play a major role in Operation Fast and Furious.[4][28]”
“Those at the [AG/ATF/FBI/DEA] meeting did not suggest using the “gunwalking” tactic, but ATF agents would soon use it in an attempt to achieve the desired goals”
“The strategy of targeting high–level individuals, which was already ATF policy, would be implemented by Bill Newell, special agent in charge of ATF’s Phoenix field division. In order to accomplish it, the office decided to use “gunwalking” as laid out in a January 2010 briefing paper.”
Yeah, you should totally be telling other people how ignorant they are compared to you on this topic.
This topic being some bunch of bright sparks thought it would be a good idea to hold hearings and demand the release of document on how Obama is totally negotiating with the Taliban since 2005. Yeah, guess how that works out.
“This war is being waged with guns purchased not here, but in the United States. More than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops that line our shared border.” Barack “the wannabe Gun Grabber” Obama, speaking in Mexico in April 2009
Well, I guess he ought to know.
“On October 26, 2009, a teleconference was held at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. to discuss US strategy for combating Mexican drug cartels. Participating in the meeting were Deputy Attorney General David W. Ogden, Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, ATF Director Kenneth E. Melson, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Michele Leonhart, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Robert Mueller and the top federal prosecutors in the Southwestern border states. They decided on a strategy to identify and eliminate entire arms trafficking networks rather than low–level buyers.[3][30][31] Those at the meeting did not suggest using the “gunwalking” tactic, but ATF agents would soon use it in an attempt to achieve the desired goals.”–wiki
What a coincidence! And, right after Obambi was holding forth!!! Just to make sure that 90% figure is accurate, they decide to start helping the Mexican drug cartels get guns from gun shops right on our border, per Obama (man, he must be psychic). And, of course, none of the bigwigs know ANYTHING about it. We know nothing, nothing.
“President Obama insists neither he nor Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. knew federal ATF agents were permitting illegal gun purchases on the Southwest border, even as Republican lawmakers released new documents showing the attorney general was given general briefings on the Fast and Furious”–L.A. Times
We know nothing, nothing. Whoops.
“Not content to pack off millions of miscreants, impoverished or labor-averse citizens to the welcoming, welfare bestowing arms of the United States government, Mexican President Felipe Calderon has decided to hold Americans responsible for his nation’s crime rate as well. On November 2nd, 2010, Calderon retained the New York law firm of Reid, Collins and Tsai to sue American gun manufacturers and dealers for the reputed massive influx of weapons into the otherwise zephyr-swept, Shangri La of Mexico.”–Doug Book
Well, heavens to Betsy, you mean the whole idea was cooked up to shut down gun manufacturers here in the United States, so that Americans won’t be able to buy guns, and so that only our fabulous government (and Mexican drug cartels) will have weapons? Gee, I never would have guessed.
A little Q and a with the Gun Grabber (and Murderer-in-Chief)
“Q: When you were in the state senate, you talked about licensing and registering gun owners. Would you do that as president?”
“A: I don’t think that we can get that done. But what we can do is to provide just some common-sense enforcement. The efforts by law enforcement to obtain the information required to trace back guns that have been used in crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers.”–On the Issues
We know what he wants. Essentially, a ban on private ownership of weapons in America. Since it isn’t polically feasible to do that, he needs another way, like by arranging matters so that gun manufacturers in the United States are put out of business by bogus lawsuits, for example. Too bad they got caught. Too bad for them, that is.
And, of course, we know who it is that has no scruples…and, it ain’t the gun dealers.
There is a solution: Immpeachment and/or criminal charges for Obambi and everyone in his administration (it’s called cleaning house). Abolition of the BATF (or whatever it’s called these days). Repeal of all unconstitutional gun control laws (and that’s pretty much all of them).
That won’t stop gangs from getting guns, but it will stop our government from helping them get guns, and it will also stop government attempts to disarm us. And, we really need our guns…to protect ourselves from governments and gangsters.
