So said Democrat strategist Bob Beckel Wednesday on Fox’s The Five.
Bob Beckel has gotten in trouble for saying things on The Five before but this was just hilarious. During a segment on Michael Vick, he called the dog fighters a bunch of “rednecks.” Even as the word left his mouth, he could tell he was going to get in trouble. So, during the next segment (on a story we know he’s not too interested in), he made a point to apologize, saying that, to him, “redneck” wasn’t a racial thing because “blacks are rednecks, whites are rednecks, I was a redneck, Chinamen are rednecks.” His stunned co-hosts then rushed to cut to commercial and, when the show returned, Beckel was forced to apologize again to the Chinese community!
“Chinamen?” Seriously?
Beckel seems to be acting as a running gag on what’s wrong with liberalism these days: He can’t keep his facts straight, ever, he admits to leading a life of serial extralegal behavior while advocating using government power to coerce others on how they should live, and he manages to be a human insult sound board popping off from one stupid comment to another. He does keep the show entertaining, I’ll give him that. Watching Greg Gutfeld toy with him makes the show worth watching by itself.
The one thing Beckel has managed to get right is the bit about being a liberal allows him to get away with stuff no conservative could possibly get away with. Imagine if any of the other panelists on The Five had said “Chinamen” (never mind the fact that that’s a term from another era, so none of them would). Every conservative on earth would end up having to weigh in and probably apologize for it. But Beckel being a liberal, means he can just half-heartedly apologize and move on to the next insult.
The problem that I see is that Beckel is the smartest and most reasonable liberal in the public eye.
I’m including every libwit member of congress in that statement.
Thre should be more Beckels saying even more stupid things more often until the general public wants to do violent things to them. Once we reach that stage, all the Beckels can be fired and be put under the witness protection program for their own safety.

David Corn, Gloria Borger, Bib Shrum, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Katrina vanden Heuval, E.J. Dionne…no end in sight. Beckel is far from alone in the clueless lib sweepstakes, although his foot is more often lodged in his own mouth than the others. Then there’s Alan Grayson former congressman from Florida. Life is short, so I’ll stop there.
My favorite thing about Beckel is when he got on Hannity (back when I watched). Hannity would bring up some Obama idiocy everyone on the Right has heard of, and Beckel’s face would be just perfect. He’d never heard of it, since he gets all his news from Lefty sources. He was floored at the stupidity. Then he would try to defend it when he clearly knew nothing of it, while knowing that it was insanely stupid. Comic.
Beckel is a Party tool. It’s the only way the lout could make such a good living.
I can’t stand Beckel, but have to put up with him Mondays on Hannity.
Can he really *be* that stupid and delusional, or is it all an act for the money?
Who cares about a loser like Beckel. Those women on that show are beautiful!
I used to think Bob read the DNC talking points every day first thing. After watching The 5 for a few weeks I think he WRITES the daily DNC talking points. The stuff he says makes me cringe because enough people in positions of leadership say and believe such things as well. I don’t begrudge people having opinions like these; I just don’t think they should ever be in positions of leadership.
It’s the fact that they are in leadership positions that bothers me.
