Texas Governor Rick Perry is a day away from officially announcing his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President, but has already inched ahead of Mitt Romney on Intrade, the future event prediction site.

At this writing, (and subject to change moment by moment) Intrade gives Perry a 31.8% chance of winning the nomination with Romney at 30%.

Obama “stock” is currently trading with a 50.2% chance of re-election.

The 2012 race for the GOP nomination just got some real excitement injected into it with Perry’s late entry.

Keep your eyes on Intrade for the “market knows.”
