Gallup: Obama Hits 40% Approval, 50% Disapproval

The media will not say it, but Barack Obama is an unpopular president as half the country now disapproves of his job performance. And his antics on the debt debate are hurting him in the long-ball game, whatever happens in the short term.

Here’s Gallup’s latest.

President Obama’s job approval rating is at a new low, averaging 40% in July 26-28 Gallup Daily tracking. His prior low rating of 41% occurred several times, the last of which was in April. As recently as June 7, Obama had 50% job approval.

Obama’s approval rating averaged 46% in June and was near that level for most of July; however, it has stumbled in the past few days, coinciding with intensification of the debt ceiling/budget battle in Washington.

Another key stat:

Obama’s job approval rating among Democrats is 72%, compared with 34% among independents and 13% among Republicans.

All his base-baiting is doing is keeping the left somewhat in his camp, while turning independents off. They’re tuning him out. When he speaks, he doesn’t move the needle. And a lot of independents are in the Tea Party, which Obama and his party keep demonizing.

So, you know, he’s acting stupidly and it’s showing up in the polls.

Hopefully his approval ratings will continue to sink, and he’ll take a major beating at the ballot box in 2012.

This guy is a complete ignoramus, and the only reason his polling numbers are as high as they are, is because the media has been shilling for him lo these many years, and a lot of people in this country are actually dumb enough to believe what they hear in the media.

Bryan – Unfortunately, Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll has him in somewhat better shape, something like 54 disapprove and 45 approve (it varies from day to day). Let’s hope Rasmussen’s begins to look like Gallup’s current poll.

This is very good news, indeed. Another aspect of the polls is that Gallup is deemed more left-leaning than, say, Rasmussen, which most political junkies view as the gold standard in political polling.

So, for Gallup to be able to find only a 40% approval level, one could infer that it’s even lower than that.

If the MSM ever sees the light, it will be total curtains for this president. All that’s keeping him as “high” as 40% is his peanut gallery in the media. GWB was in the 30s with daily pounding from the MSM. Imagine where O would be if he weren’t portrayed as the great statesman and “eloquent” speaker that is the crux of the MSM narrative.

I’m thinking high 20s favorable…maybe high teens in another year.
