The cheerless crowd that rules the Islamic Republic has created a new “morals police” to crackdown on lewd, un-Islamic behavior. The latest no-nos are: men wearing necklaces, women showing a bit of leg…and anyone with a dog or cat. Indeed, I am told that there are now respiratory problems in Tehran because of the cremation of so many pets.
Seems to me that the mullahs have it backwards. It’s men showing too much leg and women wearing fetching jewelry that out to concern them, don’t you think? And pets are a lot more likeable than the crowd around Khamenei and Ahmadinejad…

They need to be careful about killing too many dogs. They might accidentally kill Khamenei and Ahmadinejad and the rest of the mullah’s mothers. Oops, who said that!!
In the Middle Ages, folks thought that cats were responsible for spreading the plague so they engaged in wholesale slaughter. Guess what? Rats and mice, the real carriers, exploded in population and spread the disease even more. Watch for an explosion of little critters in Teheran.
