You thought Anthony Weiner made dumb decisions?

Boat owners have elaborate rituals steeped in superstition about boats.   You don’t give questionable names to boats, and don’t start voyages on a Friday, particularly Good Friday.  If you’ve ever been at sea in 45kts and 15 foot seas, you know why.  “What cares these roarers for the name of a King?” (Tmp. 1.1).

Consider Mark Wilkinson of England.  He chose perhaps the stupidest possible name for a boat, and took it out on an ill fated maiden voyage, 99 years after another maiden voyage, when  a “large hole opened up in the vessel’s fiberglass hull on his way back to the harbour.”
