PolitiHacks Texas: 'Mostly True' in spite of the facts

You can’t make this stuff up. The Texas Democrats have alleged a holocaust of school closings as a result of the Texas lege’s latest budget and school finance deals. They said more than 90 schools would close. PolitiHacks Texas checked out the claim.

The House Democratic caucus sent us a list of more than 90 schools, but we could find only seven — out of thousands across the state — that will shut their doors because the Legislature is reducing education aid. We rate the Democrats’ statement Mostly True.

Less than 10% accuracy earns the Democrats a “Mostly True.” And I’m not even surprised.

Here’s a statement I rate as totally true: PolitiFact Texas is full of partisan Democrats who wouldn’t know the truth if it bit them on the backside.
