Will Goldstone’s semi-apology be a wake up call?

Late and weak as Richard Goldstone’s apology for his execrable report on the Gaza war in today’s Washington Post may be, the fallout should be interesting. Ron Radosh here on PJ has much to say, but I hope this is only the beginning. The amount of public lying about the Arab-Irsaeili conflict that has been countenanced in our society is reprehensible beyond words. It has infected our public universities to an extraordinary degree, not to mention our media and even the Jewish community, a significant portion of which suffers from their own version of the Stockholm Syndrome.

Ya, basta! Time for everyone to wake up!

Teacher, teacher, I know! The answer is “no”.

    Feh.

  2. At this point, a wake up call would be more in the nature of a tsunami that at once envelopes Berkeley, Ward Churchill, Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein and reaches all the way to Madison.

Yeah, half the country. Forget about it – this is something that can only be solved by once again having a reaction with a reverse narrative such as happened with Reagan after America paralyzed itself over the Vietnam War.

This time I hope it is an over reaction that reaches as far as actual reality and lasts decades cuz that is how long it will take to undo the Ginsberg/Burroughs/Frank to Churchill/Wright/Soledad O’Brian decades.

Funny how artist’s started the politically correct ball rolling and demagogue’s keep it going. Also noted is that science fiction writers even as far back as the late 40s warned against this but they were considered as working in a childish genre compared to today’s bold narratives consisting of putting crosses in urine or wrapping a frickin’ bridge in fabric. A really good illustrator is still considered a guy with a corncob pipe from Dogpatch.

We’ve an awfully long way to go and before we get there we may have to change the name of Washington because Latino’s can’t really pronounce words that begin in ‘W’.

When i heard that Goldstone apologized on the down right lies that made up his entire report and view on Israel’s part in the Pal’-Israeli conflict, i was re leaved. It was only after a few hours that i realized that it simply doesn’t really matter, the damage has already been done.
The Palestinians might be considered as the less powerful side, but they are winning one war,and that war is the war for public opinion.
Goldstone didn’t change people’s minds on Israel..what it did do was give the Palestinians another platform to sell there lies off of.Lies that the International Public ate up like Steaks.
No matter what you hear, whether it be on the news or from some lying scum-bag, The Israeli army is the most human army in the world.

An apology is NOT enough — but this will right his wrongs:

Goldstone made a more virolent charge against Israel, than against unnamed (Hamas was never specified) Palestinian organizations. Not only was Israel accused of “war crimes” but it was accused that Israel’s prime purpose was to kill civilians! Their was no evidence to support that vile accusation, and much against. As British Colonel Richard Kemp testified to the UN Human Rights commisian: “During Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli Defence Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.” But Goldstone wouldn’t listen! It was not only: “If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone report would have been a different document.” But that he issued the damning report based on false evidence and conjecture, while refusing to pay attention to true, real, evidence.. Goldstones partial recantation is not satisfactory. I don’t read a read a full Al Cheit in his op-ed article.
