"Progressive" San Fran supervisor defiant over pledge

San Francisco supervisor Jane Kim refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance.   Actions endearing to her San Fran constituents are  just the sort of thing that would result in an immediate election defeat most everywhere else in the nation.  Kim, pulling a page from the grievance playbook, says, “I don’t think our flag represents a nation where there’s liberty and justice for all.”  Fox further notes: “she hasn’t recited the pledge since high school and stayed silent during her previous tenure as the Board of Education president.”  A true believer it seems.

I wonder if Kim also objects to the oath proscribed by the California Constitution?  Article 20, Section 3 states all government officials “shall, before they enter upon the duties of their respective offices, take and subscribe the following oath or affirmation: ‘I, [Jane Kim], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California.’”  Even if she went through the motions of the oath to obtain her office, does she really believe it?
