Good news! Obama plans to spend even more of your money
Let the SOTU spending spree begin:
Mr. Obama will argue that the U.S., even while trying to reduce its budget deficit, must make targeted investments to foster job growth and boost U.S. competitiveness in the world economy. The new spending could include initiatives aimed at building the renewable-energy sector—which received billions of dollars in stimulus funding—and rebuilding roads to improve transportation, people familiar with the matter said.
Want to make us more competitive? Get the government out of the way and stop spending all the money.

It is beyond question that this man hates America and is trying to destroy it. Evidence: twenty-five months of of economic downturn and disastrous foreign policy (not to mention the endless expanding wars) – directly as a result of his policies.
And most recently, to the utter silence of his Leftwing supporters, the recipient of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize hosts and toasts the dictator responsible for jailing the recipient of the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.
Its unfortunate that racism has taken over the gop. There was a time when conservitives were not afraid of their own shadow.
Used to be conservative:
If your post is satire, not that great.
Otherwise you are an unthinking troll who thinks any criticism of Obama is racism. That thought is simply the result of your own pathetic biases.
Remember:
Only racists oppose Obama!
Actually, Im pretty sure that most people who used to be conservative can spell conservative.
Now.. I used to be a Libarul..
Obama can propose all the spending he wants. The House has power of the purse. Just say no.
“Renewable Energy sector” huh?
It’s all about steering contracts to GE.
GE owneth NBC.
NBC sucketh Obama.
Obama sucketh GE.
We get to wash the sheets.
And no one even leaves a $20 on the nightstand for us.
Obama the huckster may be the greatest con man in world history! Unfortunately….we have to deal with him.
itargeted investments/i
This implies limits to the type and size of investments. That also implies limits to the growth that would come of it. QED.
I am shocked — *shocked!* — to see the word targeted in there. That language is likely to incite people to violence!
IWe get to wash the sheets./I
Braggart. You got a job, eh?
As pseudo technocrat, and life long loser, Michael Dukakis used to say, Good jobs at good wages. Then he got fired and picked up a life long hack job at Amtrack and UMass, Boston.
Re, GE. Rent seeking blood sucking squids. Theyre everywhere.
Its like musical chairs, see — the object is to keep the game going while you are in office and you and your buddies get yours, and push off the day when the bills come due into somebody elses time –and those rubes in flyover country cant do anything about it until the next election, when most of em cant remember who did what to whom. Time honored strategy for the big spenders.
Rebuilding roads? You mean like repaving undamaged roads that were freshly laid down 3 yrs ago? They did a lot of that around here, and the union guys were making a lot of money. A lot. Of course, all of the other construction guys are still out of work – non-union, I mean.
Bilgeman is correct. Back in 2002, GE bought Astro-power which was one of the early manufacturers of solar panels. No doubt that business has a LOT of competition these days as the technology is not proprietary and anybody with enough capital can get in. The Chinese, with their lower labor costs, thus have a competitive advantage in such an endeavor. But thanks to crony capitalism, Obama can steer newly-printed inflation-creating dollars to his favorite rent-seeker under the guise of green jobs. I think Immelt calls this Eco-magination.
We get to wash the sheets.
And they wont even leave a $20 on the nightstand for us.
And who will be the beneficiaries of the targeted spending (er, investment)? Somehow, I expect those beneficiaries to friends of Obama.
“targeted investments”
Payoff money for cronies in businesses that rational investors understand to be scams and not businesses.
In Capitalism, Companies use their own profits to finance innovation, so they can continue to make money and thrive.
In __________, Companies have their profits taken away from them and given to organizations and groups who determine what innovation is needed, and how it is to be run.
Fill in the blank.
If indeed Obama goes this way, which sure seems likely, we have to impress upon all those new GOP congressmen that this is an issue on which compromise is simply not possible. It’ll be hard enough to ever rein in entitlements, but if their first step is to increase corporate welfare, it will be quite impossible.
