I would pay BIG pay-per-view money to see Bill O’Reilly and Keith Olbermann in a ten round boxing match. Send proceeds to their respective fav. charities. Ratings would be Boffo, eh Roger?
While at a campground on North Padre Island Island early this spring, I noticed an older model camper on a pickup truck. It had a large sticker of a green ‘Alien’. Soon after I met the owner and his wife, a discussion came up about our amazing technology coming from the ‘Roswell’ (NM) incident. I nodded in wonderment, which further encouraged this couple to say that without doubt, ‘Bush’ brought down the Twin Towers and he was the worst president ever in history. ‘Billy C’ of course was the best ever. Hilly C was going to be wonderful. I asked if they liked ‘Rosie O’D'? When I mentioned that the polls showed OB to be winning, they went absolutely berserk,shaking their heads and yelling NO, NO, NO! At least they were strong in their convictions. Even the Canadian Snowbirds standing nearby, were looking puzzled by these revelations. Question…Do all leftist Liberals think like this? if so the US education system is in deeper trouble than has been acknowledged.
Broadsword, no I didn’t. At least I didn’t mean that. (Talking live on TV you can be misconstrued.) My criticism is simple. At the beginning of the WoT, Bush and his people, perhaps in fear of turning off the public, made it seem as if life would be business as usual. The army would handle things, we should go to the mall, shop, and keep the economy up. What they should have done, I think, is engage the public in the struggle aswas done in WWII. Nevertheless, as Andrew Breitbart pointed out on the show, this might not have meant much in the end. Our internal media adversaries would have acted as they have anyway… In any case, thanks for watching. More to come.
Roger, I think President Bush was only trying to make the point that we should not live in fear because that would have been a major victory for terrorism. Perhaps he went too far in that direction, but the WWII model simply doesn’t fit. During WWII, nearly every family had someone in the service, and there was a real need for the rationing of gasoline and other common goods. War is waged very differently today, especially war against terrorists.
Candidate Obama goes on an unprecedented world tour. He gave a speech in Germany rivaling Olympic coverage eyeballs.
Meanwhile Charles Gibson has the temerity, right of the bat, to ask Sarah how much hubris it took to accept an invitation to serve as a vice president?
As I have been saying, it’s only going to get worse.
Gibson’s universe seems to exclude all congressional advise and consent, presidential appointments, the people that really have to know more than the candidates and excludes all the career people in the federal government whose job include advising those people that in turn advise the president.
If you didn’t know better you think Sarah was interviewing for a job were she needed to know everything (astronut?) because she would not have anybody, I mean nobody to advice her.
In other words – a total tv, made up misconception.
BTW, The pieces I’ve seen from World News tonight and Nightline seemed heavely edited.

It was a big mistake to permit the interview with ABC. Palin will do well enough but between the editing and commentary by pundits it will portray her in the worst possible light. Better to ignore the networks and send a signal that they are insignificant.
I think presidents hire guys like Henry Kissinger to give them foreign policy advice. I’d feel comfortable with a proven executive like Palin, who could sort the good advice from the bad and make the right decision. A president or a VP shouldn’t have to know who the prime minister of Uzbekistan is but a foreign policy adviser should, along with who makes up the entire cabinet.
I am very concerned about who might be advising President Obama in the future. He seems to have displayed very bad judgement in the past regarding who he surrounds himself with.
I wish you’d give detailed instructions on getting this; I could not get by the subscriber form. I asked for ‘low quality,’ signed on, and then was lead to the subscriber options. If this is free, how can I see it without subscribing?

Olbermann is a despicable individual. There is a lot of puffery and populism on both sides in the TV game. Many commentators with whom I mostly agree with on the issues also irritate me with their personal style (or lack of it), but none on their worst day could sink to the level, nay, the level six levels *above* the level of KO. Did he come on to “apologize” after MSNBC replayed its original coverage of 9/11 in its entirety once again this year? No, and he shouldn’t have, but MSNBC should apologize for airing that vile twit’s idiotic ramblings every night of the week.
As to Roger’s point on what Bush might have done instead of telling Americans to go about their “business as usual,” it’s a perfectly legitimate subject for debate – unfortunately many on the left only want to use it as a way to ridicule the President. Frankly, the lack of awareness of roughly 85% of all Americans on just how serious the Islamists are – *to this day* – makes it hard to believe that a WWII-like groundswell would have been possible. It’s sad to say, but I’m afraid something, or a series of things, even bigger than 9/11 need to occur for a large majority of Americans to develop the urgency and patriotic dedication Bush’s critics claim he failed to “inspire.” Too many people are incurious and uninspired all by their lonesome. Like the worthless MSM, pigs and lipstick are apparently more worthy of discussion than radical Islam for most people I talk to. Eyes glaze over whenever I forget myself and get too in depth in discussion with people who haven’t the slightest clue about the subject – I rarely even bother anymore. I’d buy ‘em all a copy of “America Alone” if I could, but I’m not a rich man.
