You would have to get someone other than Mathews to carry the Great One. Mathews’ legs would be too tingly so close to Obama.
The Jewish, mostly reliably Democrat, has left the hall on Obama.
The strong Democrat percentages will not be there.
The biggest MSM myth in this election will be that poor to middle class whites will be voting race.
Forgetting all about the black vote which will go 98% + for Obama.

I have been waiting for you – or someone – to point out the similarities between the zealous Obama followers and the people who were mesmerized by Jim Jones – he of Kool Aid fame. I surmise that the fear of being called a rscist deters such comparison. Am I right?
Remember that these broad national polls don’t mean that much. It’s the Electoral College that we have to focus on.

McCain requested that they visit Iraq together. Obama was right to decline for political reasons, since if he had McCain would be getting just as much coverage during the trip, and possibly more because he would meet with reporters while Obama for the most part would not (did not).
Funny how Obama can’t wait to talk with terrorists, yet he’s afraid to be in the same city as John McCain.
What a hack. If Obama had half as much talent as he claims to have, he’d welcome every possible opportunity to clean McCain’s clock, face to face. But he doesn’t, and he can’t, so he won’t. (Why he thinks it would be different with terrorists is beyond me.)

Pharaoh Tutanklueless recently uttered this thoroughly ignorant statement, one of literally hundreds that his loyal subjects in the MSM have glossed over that they would readily bury any Republican with:
“Throughout our history, America’s confronted constantly evolving danger, from the oppression of an empire, to the lawlessness of a frontier, from the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor, to the threat of nuclear annihilation….”
The bomb. That fell. Like a raindrop.
A high school dropout whose only knowledge of Pearl Harbor is Michael Bay’s horrible movie – no, wait, the *trailer* for that horrible movie – knows better than that. Couldn’t we just elect that kid?

It all boils down to this awkward and unavoidable question: how many people would support Barack “Barry” Obama if he were not a man of color? Should we not judge the man by the content of his character—and not the color of his skin?
I watched OA being interviewed in Baghdad by Terry Moran (ABC). He fumbled, hemmed and hawed, came off relying on old platitudes finally backed up and shut down the interview. When it comes to foreign affairs, he is not clueless but offers no confident persona.
Will the returning media give him “stick” because of his positions which seemingly were formed before he even traveled there?

Unless something has changed in the fundamental outlook of the American electorate, and I admit that it certainly could have, foreign adoration is not a plus for a presidential candidate. Just the opposite, in fact.

Put a (D) after a dead mans name and he gets 40%. The Obammessiah will get about 42….. maybe.
If you look at the lefty blogs, they are not weakening in their public support of Barry but I wonder if, in the wee small hours of the morning, they have doubts. A caller today to Hugh Hewitt’s show was explaining his reasons for supporting Obama. He was well spoken and reasonable. He said that the US used to be loved and respected and he wanted that again. I can remember the days when I was a freshman in college. It was during the 1956 election and I was thinking that, if only the rest of the world could vote in our elections, they would vote for Stevenson. My excuse is that I was 18. The next year, I took an economics course and in 1960 voted for Nixon, outraging my family of Democrats. I think this guy was older than 18 but I recognized that freshman innocence in his voice. “Let’s just all be friends.” Chamberlain felt the same way when he flew to Munich in 1938.

It’s a long way till election day, but the Electoral College is where it’s at. Even if the election is close in terms of national vote, the Electoral College can be won comfortably (part of its purpose). Ohio is a traditional Republican state, and McCain might have to spend more money to win it than he would like (and he opted for the dumb public financing). I don’t like McCain-Feingold for many reasons, but I think McCain actually believes in that crap. He will run a basically principled campaign but will look stodgy doing so (like Dole). Obama will run as the new candidate but will actually do Chicago-politics-stuff hoping no one important notices. I hope to be proven wrong, but I think it’s Bill Clinton all over again (Clinton-Dole 1996). I think that the irrational (star power, politics of change, let’s put all that behind us; why can’t we run our cars on sunlight) will be more important this year than the rational (is this guy even remotely qualified; gee wasn’t McCain right about the surge) aspects of voting.
Obama does not want to be on a foreign trip with McCain because he would look small by comparison. His handlers are doing the “wise” thing, but that defeats the message of the “beyond politics” garbage. I think that Obama and his campaign realize that as he plays politics, the shine comes off the halo bit by bit. They hope to reach election day with just enough shine left. In a funny way, they will be playing a four corners offense hoping to run out the clock doing nothing while pretending to do something.
Obama made a huge mistake in visiting Germany. He is sounding too European. His drop in the polls will continue. McCain will be perceived as the safe choice who will likely be in office for only four years.
BO’s statement in Germany that he would remake the world was especially dumb. It’s time the US told the world to fix their own problems.
It’s kind of hard to hide the fact that gas is quite expensive, and hope and change and new technologies that aren’t affordable and available aren’t going to get you to work tomorrow.
McCain and every Republican need to relentlessly remind the voters that a certain political party will not even let the issue of drilling where we know there is oil be voted on.
It wouldn’t even be close.
