Our good friends at the NYT (international div) are telling of some pretty involved planning by the Israelis vis-a-vis Iran:
More than 100 Israeli F-16 and F-15 fighters participated in the maneuvers, which were carried out over the eastern Mediterranean and over Greece during the first week of June, American officials said.
The exercise also included Israeli helicopters that could be used to rescue downed pilots. The helicopters and refueling tankers flew more than 900 miles, which is about the same distance between Israel and Iran’s uranium enrichment plant at Natanz, American officials said.
Will they do it? I certainly don’t know. [You don't? I thought the Mossad financed this site?-ed. That was last year. This year it's the Guoanbu.] But I would ask this – would the Israelis rather take action now or during a possible Obama administration?

The Israelis would do the world a favor if they did whack Iran. If they do, I hope we go with them.
I wish that there would be hits on such places as Revolutionary Guard HQ, Religious Police HQ,etc. Probably don’t have the names right, but I bet to have such destroyed would have a good effect on the opposition. Their oppressors struck down!
…would the Israelis rather take action now or during a possible Obama administration?
I would take action now, while I know I have a partner that will (at least) deflect some of the flack at the UN and (at most) share some vital intel.
In matters of survival, go with what you know. Obama says he’s about ‘change’, but there is no time left in the atomic clock to decipher that desuetude penumbra.
You are down a run in the bottom of the ninth, with two outs and the bases are loaded. You don’t let the rookie bat, you go with the veteran.
Outlaw the thing and begin bombing
OK, just saying…
The election will be over when Nov 8th dawns, but Bush will still be President until Jan 20th.
Nothing that happens during that window will affect the election, nor be the responsibility of the next President. Though he’ll have to deal with the aftermath.
I have to admit that I feel ashamed that we in the West, and we in the U.S. in particular, have become so cowardly and so lacking in political will that we are relying on the Israelis to confront this problem that we should all be confronting together.
The mad mullahs threaten us every bit as much as they threaten the Israelis.
That Obama has said he would talk with them “without preconditions” shows him to be an eloquent moron.

No dejes para mañana lo que puedes hacer hoy.
Procrastination only allow the seeds of doubt to germinate.
The Israelis must bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities if Barack “Barry” Obama is elected president. The United States will immediately thereafter stab it allies in the back. Obama is a self hating American who instinctively believes that we are experiencing a well deserved blowback for crapping on the dark skinned victims of the Third World. Israel will no longer be able to trust America. It will be all alone in the world.
“But I would ask this – would the Israelis rather take action now or during a possible Obama administration?”
All other things being equal, I imagine the Israelis would act while they’ve got a proven friend in the White House.
My question is: Does Israel have the luxury of making a decision like this? To me, the more pertinent question is, “Can Israel afford the risk of waiting too long?”
Consider this…what if, instead of overstating their nuclear progress, Iran is *understating* it, and is a lot closer to a nuke than they’re admitting?
Israel (not to mention the rest of the civilized world) can’t risk finding out the hard way, by having Tel Aviv turned into a glowing crater.

…a possible Obama administration?
Today NYT David Brook’s The Two Obamas is a must read.
Here is a little taste to wet your beak.
But he’s (OB) been giving us an education, for anybody who cares to pay attention. Just try to imagine Mister Rogers playing the agent Ari in “Entourage” and it all falls into place.
More on The two Obamas
Brooks says Obama throws people under the truck. It used to be that he threw people under the bus.
Truck, bus, steamroller, woodchipper, whatever’s available (preferably operated by a union worker of some sort). Funny how he can’t bowl for #%*! but he’s an expert at pushing other people on top of the latest grenade. He’s selectively nimble, I guess. Everybody comes to the game with a different skill-set, even The O!mnipotent O!ne.
Soyez le bienvenu chez vous, Chef!
Barry, Lightnin’:
As behooves The Great Obam, he now has a whole fleet of disposal machinery of different varieties. Usage demand has been high. And it was getting mighty crowded under the bus….. then what with the general election coming…… I hear that his latest addition to the inventory is a large 18-wheeler Mac Truck (Obamette: Oooo, cool! It has, like an iMac in it? Does it have, like wireless so I can twitter? Ed.: Sorry, there was arugula on the keyboard, that’s Mack Truck; no twitter. Obamette: iPod? Ed.: Shotgun rack. Don’t worry, it’ll look good.). You apparently get a very satisfying crunch when the latest oblation goes under all those wheels. Campaign innovation at work. Imagine what he’ll be able to do with all those new tax dollars once he settles into the Oval Office…..
