He died at 5am of a hemorrhage, site not specified, a week after surgery to remove a “growth” on his neck. This leads me to wonder about the connection, if any, between the surgery and the hemorrhage; carotid artery rupture (medical idiom, “blow-out”) can very infrequently follow a “radical neck dissection” for cancer. Sadly, in that event he was probably found dead in bed, 5am nursing being what it is.
