Maybe I’m wrong, but Judith Miller seems to have lost some weight during her twelve week stay in jail. (No doubt the food was wretched.) If so, this is the only good thing to have come out of this tedious contretemps surrounding the “outing” of a CIA semi-operative whose identity was already available in Who’s Who. [But nobody reads Who's Who!-ed. You're right about that.]

Miller probably heard how well the prison food worked for Martha Stewart and figured it was worth a shot. Who knew white bread and baloney was so slimming?

So why did she sit in jail for 85 days?
She claims that she waited in jail for 3 months simply because she wanted to hear from Libby that he didn’t mind if she testified? When he had already signed a waiver? And her testimony is that she had no idea who Plame was? If her version of this story is correct she is barely rational at best. Why wouldn’t she accept Libby’s waiver to give testimony that she had never heard of Plame?
Why is there no curiosity from the press about what’s going on here?

Are you kidding. Do you know how much 85 days at a fat farm costs. Once people figure this out, they will be calling Peter Fitzgerald and refusing to testify, even if they have no idea what or who valerie plame wilson is or was.
Geez–you guys are BAD! I can honestly confess to not following this whole Plame thing–but with respect to Miller, seems to me she wanted to be a martyr for whatever reason and it stopped being fun as her 15 minutes of fame receded what with Mama Moonbat, hurricanes, supreme court politics and the like. But what do I know.

By giving up her source she kinda blew her chance for journalistic sainthood. “I gave him up, but not until I spent 85 long days in jail” The whole thing is strange. I am not sure but doesn’t the grand jury end on 28th. Why wouldn’t she wait the remaining time.There was quite a bit of bashing of Cooper and praising of Miller but in the end they both did the same thing. I just can’t wait till this thing is over and Plame can join Schiavo in the what a waste of time club.

Powerline notes the prosecutor agreed the only source she had to talk about was Libby (http://powerlineblog.com/archives/011835.php). In other words, she had another source, and didn’t have to give it up. Who, praytell, might that other source have been?
